Mario Kart Wii Launch Starring Jason Priestley

Jason Priestley, who Nintendo was kind enough to remind us is an actor, hit up this weekend's launch of Mario Kart Wii at the Nintendo World store in New York. While there he took on fellow actor Chace Crawford of Gossip Girl fame in a bit of Mario Karting. If that fat cat smile and double chin is any measure it looks like Priestley totally schooled the kid. With a wheel too!

I'm kind of the minority here, in that (characters and music aside) I thought Warrior Within was the best of the series. I loved all three.
Yes, the Prince is totally 2 dimensional in WW, yes that stupid Godsmack music just doesn't work and continues to play long after the fight is over. Aside from that? Wicked. I thought it had the best environments, the best level design, the best platforming of the series.
In Sands of Time the platforming was of course excellent, but the fight system? (We know, we know) the first time you run up a guy's face, flip over him and whack him with your sword? Awesome. After that you realize there's pretty much no combat system.
In Two Thrones they introduce stealth kills (awesome! I love me some Tenchu), and you get to enjoy... let me think... at most 5 animations for dispatching enemies. And that's not 5 per enemy. That's 5 total...I think. May've miscounted. But honestly, if you're not going to crank it to 11 (or at least 8), leave well enough alone.
But I'll also freely say the end of Sands of Time and Two Thrones always get to me. I dunno why but when the Prince starts to tell his story at the end of the games I always get misty.

A new Prince of Persia series for the new systems? Yes please. Trilogy please. And give us a decent way to replay the next Assassin's Creed.

Didn't Priestly do the voice-over for that tricked-out car show, Rides?
He always sounded like he just rolled out of bed and they held back the coffee till he finished reading atleast a page.

@Kyle81: I'm not surprised that Nintendo chose him. Most celebrities today are surrounded by controversy and scandal such that they would seriously hurt Nintendo's family friendly image.
The last thing Nintendo needs is a celebrity showing up at the event high, drunk, or not wearing underwear.

I was at the event (waited for more than two hours but didn't get the game...grrrr) and it felt kinda sorry for the guy. He spent most of his time just standing around with no one to talk to. I'm thinking that it wasn't really an ideal demographic for him.
Still, he probably got paid a crapload of money just to be there so it was hard to feel too sorry for him.

Oh hell, I had to stare at that photo for about 20 seconds to realize that was Jason Priestley. I was starting to wonder why there was an article on someone who looks like one of those sex offender you see on the local news in their mugshot when they get arrested.

Beverly Hills sure didn't have him age well. I know Preistley has some kind of sponsorship with racing organization, which is why he was asked to be in this schtick, but they could have pitted him against someone close to being a peer, like Zack Morris!
I can see it now! Preistley is going to be in a new spinoff of the now defunct teen flick from times of yore, titled: Beverly Hills 90210-oh-oh My Back...
