The New PlayStation Store In Action
PlayStation Store senior manager Grace Chen walks us through the finer points of the retooled retail space, debuting in mid-April. It certainly looks easier to navigate, and I love the idea of having video previews and screenshots that pop-up on the screen, though I am sure things won't be quite as fluid as seen here, especially for those of us with crappy internet speeds. I'm just glad that web-based monstrosity we've been struggling with over the past year and a half or so is finally going away. This video was posted on the official PlayStation blog this morning, along with the news that firmware 2.30 adds support for DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio for Blu-ray playback, which will no doubt have home theatre aficionados wetting themselves with excitement. Looks like Sony is really stepping it up this year. Can't wait till winter!
bboboo
yeah, i didn't have any problems with the old psn store myself.
didn't even notice that it was web-based; sounds like a terrible idea, though.
i only noticed that it worked; the online play is the big draw for me.
to those asking for itunes support: get a real media player!
even my buddy's music player phone is mass storage compatible,
and can therefore be loaded with music via the ps3's usb port.

im hoping this is the chance for the europe store to stop sucking balls and bat for the other team and sleep with some hot chicks
lucky_7s
The speed and getting rid of the ridiculously slow cursor are the important parts.
Spartan1308
Oh my! I can add an item my cart without getting kicked to the front page of the store? Sign me up.
WebScud
@RedFive: You mean a lot BETTER. Not too similar, and they dont have the annoying blades.
PSN ID: Kadaj24
It looks nice but feature-wise its about the same minus the preview thing no one will care for. The best thing about this is that pressing O will go back instead of asking you if you want to exit the store. I fuckin hate going back in the current store.
PSN ID: Kadaj24

Looks a *lot* like Xbox LIVE Marketplace now.
RedFive
@kevlar35: I recommend waiting for the next price drop. As For all those features 360 has and ps3 doesn't i don't if anyone knows when or if we're getting them so i wouldn't hold my breath. If you have an HD Tv, you're a gamer, love techno geeky kind of stuff then i honestly don't think you'll be dissapointed with the ps3. It has plenty of great exclusives to tide you over until its online is on the same level as xbox live. And there's always bluray if you like movies.
Barf#1
DTS-HD MA. Get ready to rock my house with awesome sound and my new SVS Subwoofer.
ps3Dominance
Looks good to me, I like that the items you purchase no longer disappear.
VAMP
@silentbob343: Of course it is, but it didn't do DTS-HD or TrueHD yet. For that, you need new amplifier gear. Besides, all the decoding it can do don't help if the game doesn't have the appropriate track on its disc.
Candlejack
Well it happens.
Sailorcancer
I for one welcome our "NeW" and improved Sony Overlords

@bigman88zz: "i really cant though, since i came here to read about what was posted, and to see responses related to it, not about the level of beauty that grace chen exudes."
First, get firefox.
Second, I found your post interesting and I read it because I came to read this thread purely to see how many people would "hit it." No one said, I'd hit it, so I had to search for hot. Honestly, I wouldn't lie to you, that was a true story that I didn't make up. What?
Squanderdalfast
@kevlar35:
You're a douche-bag talking out of your a**.
Sony has a lot of things to get right, no doubt, but the PSN Store looks great. We everyone wants is more content and I pray Sony gets on the stick with that by giving us more PS1 and PS2 classics.
I'm also waiting for the movie service but something tells me that we're still several months away from that being a reality. And Sony'll probably save all the music downloads for SingStar.
incredibilistic
@Candlejack: ? The PS3 is decoding DTS audio streams so any multichannel amp should handle the decoded stream and putthem out to the speakers.@robbo_the_hood: Wow a lot of mis-info/ exaggeration there you want to go back? Hit L1 and you go back a page in the store. There were several categories for the content including the default "latest". The "window" popped up to give you a choice you simply selected "background download" and continued browsing as normal.
The store wasn't perfect, but it was not broken. Same with the web browser. Could it be better? Hell yes it could be, but I can use it pretty well with only a PS controller. Learn the what keys do what and you can navigate pretty quickly.
Never discussed? Are you crazy? The many flaws of the PS3 were discussed ad nauseum for the first year it was out. Did you live under a rock until January 08?
@Ehardergardens: L1 and the loading icon animation appear in the right to show it was loading a page.
silentbob343
@robbo_the_hood: In the Store, you can use L1 to go back.. I only need to use these buttons to navigate and download stuff: D-pad, X, L1. And then O to exit. You need to mess-up with the controls to disable background-download. Also, you can already watch all videos while you're downloading them.
A thing is broken if it doesn't work. The PSN store works, so it's not broken. It's just that: ping times are high, navigation is not efficient. But heck, these problems would be problems only if there were 1000 items in the store! The only valid reasons to hate on the store is... if you're in Europe or Australia. The thing is so empty there, that navigation is not a problem. Then, not being able to buy anything if you're not living in one of few select countries. (the latter is also a problem in XBL).
Just take my money, Sony, goddamnit :)
somarix
@Patient:
You have to find a middle ground between ease of use for young and old people and a sleek modern interface for everyone in between. I think they've accomplished that here. While XMB is cool, I consider it more eye candy than practical. This interface is much easier to navigate than XMB would be. Everything is larger and easier to find which is what most consumers looking to buy something will want.
This is Economics 101 here. The more accessible you make it for the most people, the more successful it will be.
LittleBigPlaneteer
@Lanhoj: Actually it was strange that their current PSNStore is browser-based. It's so much easier to make and secure if it's an executable. (I've coded things like that)
It's not broadband bandwidth problems that can ruin the shown smooth navigation, it's ping-based stuff that can. Their current store constantly waits for single small packets to be received, only then sends another small packet, seemingly. With 1.5mbit dedicated optical+wired connection, you can't tell me 8 small jpg files need 10 seconds to load :).
somarix
@robbo_the_hood: There were back functions from each screen they were the r1?, r2?, l1?, l2? I think? The problem was there was so little feedback to tell you you had actually selected the action. I think the store was fine for having to get it up and have it be a working placeholder. It wasn't that much worse than anything else, especially on hd.
I don't know if this would work but it would be nice if the ps store was a local app on the ps3 and not a web page. It would download updates to the store in the background at certain times or if there were no times it would download when the store was launched but continue downloading items into a cache even if you hadn't visited that store section yet. This would allow the store to operate more smoothly. Obviously I'm not talking about actual demos or movies being downloaded to the ps3, just the store interface and graphics. This has probably been brought up many times before.
Ehardergardens
Not bad. Has better content filters then Markeplace
pb00
If I was to stab me in the head with a sword, you would see a sword appearing to be stuck in my head.
Talk about commenting on the obvious....
...I also hate to break the news to Sony but it is in THEIR best interest to keep the shop attractive, so don't try me to sell on it.
Asbestos_Underwear
Oldboy26
I wish the LIVE Marketplace was as sexy as this. :(
Nex Antonius
Am I the only one that thought they could have really tried to innovate here?
I was hoping for the dark, elegant, UI masterpiece that Sony is known for.
I tlooks like a Blue version of Live! to me. =(
I am happy to hear it is a no longer web based, I just wish it was really slick, even mimicking the XMB itself would have been nice.
Oh well. Cheers anyways.
Patient
@Candlejack:
You need a Japanese card for the Japanese store, they're not transferrable.
@Sparx:
No, and I didn't say it was a problem, I'd just love them if they did it since I'm always doing that by mistake. It backs out of every menu in every game (except where they leave the Asian buttons intact) but the store doesn't seem like a webpage so I do it out of habit. If it's still L1... *shrug* it'll work.
@weasl:
I'm not a super hardcore audiophile though. My speakers cost less than $5000. I think for most people Dolby Digital AC3 5.1 is probably still plenty; actually from what I've seen, it's still seldom set up and used properly. I don't know what your standard of "decent" is, but I think to have any noticable improvement, I'd have to start by emptying everything out of my game room and tearing down the walls and rebuilding them to be more acoustically perfect and that's IMO quite a ridiculous step. It's not like the existing audio tech is 22KHz or something.
I've compared DD and DTS on DVD sets, and the biggest difference I noted was one is incompatible with many systems and the other isn't. I'm still glad not to have static, buzz, major tone distortion, muffled sections, or even video signal bleeding into the audio as would happen on some tape players. Beyond a certain point you just end up piling thousands of dollars into making it sound 0.5% better.
fuchikoma
I totally support the 'native' interface. Woo for no more HTML store. ;)
sascha23
Interesting... when I'm using the xmb - including the store - I stick to the d-pad, not the analog stick (as she does here) - not only is it more accurate, it saves my analog stick from the added wear and tear...
mariospants
Yet again I feel compelled to buy me some Pixel Junk Monsters
Psudonym
grace or jade? jade FTW.
RotatingRingKing
looks much, much better than that tacky one we already have
foxwarrior88
awesome... awesome... this update is needed, and i hope we get some big surprises in this store.
LittlestLamshi
Looks great. I can see there being glitches with that red shopping cart leading millions of PS3 owners with Alzheimer's to buy the same content over and over.
ShirtGuyDom
Wow a patch for Lair and free dlc coming :P , oh well I guess if you had the game it would be neat to play it with better controls and improved lock on ability.
Kyle81
So where there gonna be a search function in this or what? Can you actually type in and search for stuff freely?
ProsaCC
in before grace chen is hot.
oh wait, you all already beat me to it. :/ when will there be a day where a woman is in a video or a picture and 1/5 of the thread doesnt say something along the lines of "shes hot!!!" sure shes not bad, but still, shes not queen of the earth either, and is it really necessary for everyone to tell everyone else how hot they think she is? one could say "oh just ignore it or skip the story". i really cant though, since i came here to read about what was posted, and to see respones related to it, not about the level of beauty that grace chen exuberates.
ok, rant over. you all probably dont care anyway.
bigman88zz
@rawg:
There's still 8 1/2 months left for movies/music...:)
Yeah the itunes/ipod support is a often requested feature.
enewtabie
@robbo_the_hood: 3 items at a time to view! - only if you have an SDTV my friend - get a HDTV, it looks much different.
Shin-Kaiser
@gozirah: lmao . great post!
zanzibarlegend
@enewtabie: I'm down with the iTunes/iPod support too. I would love to transfer my music collection to my PS3. I need movies too. Where's the music/movie store Sony?
I, for one, can't wait for the new PSN store just because of the fact that it's a native XMB app instead of a web site. From what I saw in the video, the navigation and responsiveness are much better than they are now.
PS. I'll take Grace over Major Nelson any day... ;)
rawg
So now with DTS-HD being added there's one less thing for people to bitch about right? Of course, many will just find something else. We all know in-game XMB is coming and likely won't get added until Home is released. Sony has done so much to improve the PS experience in such a short time. I'm impressed
LittleBigPlaneteer
@kevlar
The old store was "functional" but it's completely ridiculous to say that it wasn't broken. The old store only loaded three items at a time to view, organized by how they were released, so that's a useless list for finding anything. Even once you did find the "games", "demos" etc buttons, three icons would appear in the order they were released so you just stumble across your target instead of being able to actually search for it with any semblance of direction.
Once you've selected an item another page loads with some information about it, and if you wanted to return to your list you can't get to the return button with the D-Pad, the primary input method for the store, unless you wanted to scroll through the text every time. The X button selects items but there is no cancel or back button on the controller, only on the screen. You have to use the joystick to free move your mouse pointer to the return button (The D-Pad only jumped to relevant buttons or text) because if you pressed circle it would give you the option of leaving the store, not to go back a page.
Whenever you wanted to download something a separate screen would come up over the store to load up you download and ask you if you wanted to download it in the background. If you chose "no" you would have o wait for the download to finish before continuing, and scant few items on the store would be considered "sit through-able" downloads (most are around an hour). Also you couldn't open any of your downloads in the store, you had to leave the store entirely and watch them on the XMB (I didn't mind this, but if the Marketplace allowed you, then the PSN should be able to as well). You have to install demos after you download them too, which is ridiculous. There is no excuse when I can download an N64 game and start playing right away while you're still waiting for your PixelJunk Monsters demo or whatever to finish downloading, only to realize you'll have to wait another few minutes to install it before you can play.
Add onto all of this the store was incredibly ugly and you have a slow to navigate and load, erratically organized, incredibly flawed but yes, fully "functional" piece of junk that should've been addressed long before anybody had time to care about in-game XMB. If you honestly were trialled to find out about these kinds of flaws (which are habitually exposed on the Wii and 360) then I wouldn't trust the internet on the PS3 either. I find it particularly odd when comparing general sentiment toward multiple disc games and required installs for games. Changing disc mid-game may be a hassle, but a FOUR disc game will ultimately cost you less time than a 5GB install at the beginning of the game. I don't see how one can be so reviled as a weakness of DVD games while the other is a worthwhile addition (When it's actually a weakness of Blu-Ray drives). Maybe if the PS3 load times would be faster than the 360 after the install but not even. They're par at best, the developer even hinted that the 360 still loads faster after the PS3 install.
I have a few gripes outside the store as well such as; not being able to do anything during an update, mentioned before but not installing downloads automatically is pathetic, this has been covered, but games requiring installs (several minutes) when I first put them in annoys me, the web browser is hideous, slow , poorly equipped and not worth your time without a kb+m (the Wii browser by contrast is incredible), and your controller won't turn off automatically if idle as they do for the 360 and Wii.
These are all very negative, but it's only because kevlar35 wanted to know the dark underbelly that is rarely if ever discussed. I admit these comments to be entirely negative and COMPLETELY IGNORING the positives, at what I perceived kevlar35's request to be. I am pleased with my PS3, am playing Ratchet and Clank right know and realizing that renting it was far overdue.
robbo_the_hood
@kevlar35: the store works, but it was clunky and slow. you obviously don't visit this site much. we bitch and moan about psn like there's no tomm on here. and now with the new updates, issues are being resolved. so obviously sony is listening to us to a degree. all the other issues like , ahem.... ingame xmb (im tired of hearing and writng this) etc are being considered by them, which they have stated on their blog site.(which by the way is pretty good)
all of this ocupled with the great psn games down the pipeline(wipeout hd,echochrome,etc)
and the eventual home, psn is moving in the right direction. even as a devout sony fan, i can say that we knocked off sony off their little pedestal a long time ago.

@marty7044:
It's the camera.

enewtabie
Playstation I?
marty7044
@db9:
I'm a little confused on your question.The in game store for Rockband already exists. Are you talking about a update to the game for the new store?
enewtabie
@weasl: DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD amplifiers are shit expensive tho. Else I'd have picked one up by now. Oh well, DD5.1 and DTS are fine as of now. I can only count one game (Uncharted) using DTS anyway so I'm wondering if DTS-HD/TrueHD games will ever show up.
Candlejack
Ahhh! I point at it and it starts talking!
Cchrist
I'm curious how this new store will integrate with Rockband. I think harmonix would have to release another patch in order for it to work. And then there would be the question of installation while the game is still technically "loaded".
db9
@thegunshow:
Amen brother, could not agree with you more.
Sparx
@Schoolimangooli:
Like their mother, more like.
I'm still waiting for an ingame XMB that was supposed to be in the works, but I'll take this too.
DELICIOUS BUNNY
@kevlar35:
You obviously don't want a PS3 if you're making that hard a case against it. Is any system 100% perfect when it's released? Nintendo *loves* hardware revisions(especially handhelds). MS has put out a ton of new SKUs with added features(HDMI anyone?). Are those systems any less fun to the people who have bought them? Do you think any pre-HDMI 360 is a total waste of money?
PS3 is a great system that is continually improving itself. I've had one since launch and I've never been disappointed with it - just continually impressed with each Firmware update.
AdeptVoice
@fuchikoma:
The DTS HD stuff is for people watching bluray discs that have decent sound setups (like me). A lot of blu-rays are starting you use DTS HD these days and the PS3 in the past couldn't decode them meaning you had to settle for a lesser sound quality on discs that supported that as their high quality audio source.
It's a actually a pretty important update for people who use the PS3 as a blu-ray player and have a sound system.
weasl
@kevlar35: "C'mon Sony, win me over, give me in game XMB, universal voice chat, universal friends lists. Don't assume I'll buy, make it impossible for me not to."
When they finally do that, you're probably going to find something else to complain about like, "Hey Sony, win me over and design a controller similar to the 360". Face it, you'll never buy a PS3. Why is it that the people who complains the most about a console is the same people that don't own it.
This is a good news to us PS3 owners who actually experience the system's offerings and being a previous 360 owner I never ask why the 360 lack all the PS3 features like built in wireless, built hi-def movie player, HDD on all of their SKUs and free online play which to me is a lot more important than in-game XMB. And when in-game XMB features arrive to the PS3, what reason will the 360 have for charging online play?
thegunshow
@Dir_en_grey:
Oh, and Pixel Junk Monsters gets a new map-pack on 4/24, with 15 new stages and a new song/songs? by Otograph, for 600 yen.
Dir_en_grey
@fuchikoma:
Why does it have to be O, is it really that hard to wrap your finger around L1 to go back?
Sparx
@kevlar35: Yes, it's a big conspiracy by the internet to hush hush all negativity about the PS3. It's called 2007. And now you've cracked this case wide open.
I think you can check out any features the PS3 does have at demo kiosks, and then make an informed decision for you 400+ dollar decision.
gozirah
@fuchikoma: I thought those weren't on sale yet? I can't find them anywhere in the UK or Europe for that matter.
Candlejack
Japanese PS3 Store News:

I bought the MGS collection and even though the games are fun Metal Gear Solid PS1 is horrible on the eyes. So i agree give us more PS2 games and less PS1.
gnudna
@Candlejack:
Yeah..Japan getting MGS first on PSN does suck..I admit it..lol
enewtabie
@kevlar35: geeze kev, the old store was a little clunky, but it was thoroughly functional. Just because this is a welcome improvement doesn't mean things were "broken" before.
KurtSubvert
@kevlar35:
Yes,in game XMB is warrantied and is being worked on,but if you want to wait..then June is probably going to be your month.
enewtabie
@Candlejack:
Maybe not, but you can buy a cash card for the store and use that. I remember there was an online import shop that would even just send you the code so you don't have to wait for the card in the mail.
fuchikoma
@kevlar35: For the most part, there /is/ demo's of alot of the stuff on there. And, no, people have outwardly admitted that the original store wasn't great. It worked, it just could of been better, now it is.
ryivanV2
Nice, it looks good and fast to navigate and load. Hopefully the vids are still downloadable in HD.
They'll score some serious points with me if I can press circle to go back, not quit the store.
And DTS for free? No licensing fee microtransaction or anything? Gee, thanks guys... Probably won't use it, but that made DTS so dumb last generation, creating all those haves and have nots.
fuchikoma
@kevlar35: You pretty much answered your own question: give me in game XMB, universal voice chat, universal friends lists. These are the only issues I have with the PS3's interface and usability.
Candlejack
I hope this store(like they promise) is much faster.
neoraul20
@Candlejack: I remember some of the great PS1 games but I just can't get myself to play them again. Comparing them to games now I can't believe how much video games have advance in every aspect. I understand how some of you guys still care about PS1 games but it's all about the current gen for me. I could care less if they put old PS1 or PS2 games in the store I care more for the new stuff they're planning of doing.
thegunshow
Epic win. Can't wait to see home on that page too... :D
ryivanV2
I've been watching from a distance, waiting for the right time to buy a PS3, but this actually shakes my confidence.
Firstly because this is the first I've heard that the original PS3 store was garbage. Why wasn't the store's inadequacy more public? Is everyone pretending the PS# features are great until better features are released? Then suddenly it's "Great! Now the PS store is really worthwhile, let's face it, the old offering was crap!"
What else does this principle apply to? What other day-to-day features are missing from the PS3 that we should take for granted? Are PS3 owners afraid to complain because it will give ammunition to the opposition? Get over it, it's a machine, when it fails you, yell it from the roof tops, that's the only way big corporations will listen to you.
The second reason I'm hesitant is because even the new version of the store seems a bit light on for features. I can watch a video now? Wow, that's great... except on the 360 I can play a demo. Of every single arcade game. No exceptions. I know Sony could do the same, so why don't they?
C'mon Sony, win me over, give me in game XMB, universal voice chat, universal friends lists. Don't assume I'll buy, make it impossible for me not to.
kevlar35
@chirokitsune: Well but I couldn't use my credit card there can I. I've got a Japanese account to get freebies from the store which is alright.
Candlejack
@enewtabie: Granted, I'm mostly let down because MGS1 isn't on there and doesn't seem to be near. But I'd still like some of the more popular games like RE, that Japan has, and AFAIK nobody else. There are countless other games that are store-worthy.
Candlejack
Smooth and sexy store interface. Nice job :3
@Candlejack: If you're willing to do some leg work, you can partake in some of the Japanese store goodness. Good luck trying to understand it though.
chirokitsune
Who smells ignorance? I do!
Earthslide
@flubbity: Yes she is hott but where's home???? hell I'd like to take her home:)
Romeloo
The store looks like it got a very nice update.
Plus, that woman is pretty cute. People going a little crazy saying she so HOT and stuff. She seems like a good girl to take home to mom. :-) Which strangely turns me on more than the hoe bags out there.
I regress....the PS Store seems pretty good now. When I finally get a PS3 (using my brother's now) I'll take advantage of it.
Figcoinc
@Candlejack:
Yeah,I'm not sure whats going on over at SCEE.The Euro list looks good,but when it's gonna roll out..who knows.
I love me some Colony Wars.
You think the NA store is that bad? Well,its not loaded with PS1 titles,but there are some good ones.I haven't looked at the Japanese side,but I hear it is pretty good.
enewtabie
I'm surprised they actually went with a picture of the wavy silk thing for the background; looks a little weird.
droopy
Much, much better. The previous felt like a throwback to the days of using the Dreamcast Passport.
futurebiblehero
@enewtabie: Oh, I'm not expecting a huge content update anytime around the launch. Just sayin' in general. The store pretty much sucks for PS1 games anywhere outside Japan. And most other parts of the store, in Europe, suck as well.
Candlejack
The DTS-HD makes me happy. I was wondering when they were going to step up. The new store looks to be miles better than the last nightmare.
mydogisdexter
@Candlejack:
Not touching that topic with a 10ft pole,but I understand your concerns.I do hope everyone doesn't expect the content the day the store opens.It'll still be the 17th.
enewtabie
why do people go crazy for any lady who works in the video game industry? i mean shes ok but nothing special. also, the new store looks much better then the last one!!
Gon
@Schoolimangooli: chill out brother. not all women are created equal in the looks dept. Grace is def a hottie.
with that said im am super hyped for next thursday!!!!!!
zanzibarlegend
Pretty boring really. But I don't have any expectations from a retail space like that really. Although the litle effects did make the interface look fairly snazzy, much better than it seemed in stills.
t0yrobo
its not working for me for some reason, not on firefox or ie, and not on this site or the other.
johnnylineup
@pot3ntial2suck: Though, does that really have to do with Grace Chen, or is it more the fact that gamers are becoming spoiled brats, throwing tantrums when they don't get what they want? They act like map packs and expansions can be made overnight. Let's face it, when something comes to PSN late, after XBL's had it for a month - the responsibility sure as shit is a lot higher up the ladder than Grace Chen. Whoever she is.
Calling for her to be fired? Jesus, its infantile.
Bergerac
@enewtabie: Well but I expect more than that from Sony. I really do. And you should, too. Don't lower your standards just because Sony can't be arsed to make arrangements. They want our money, so they better deliver a product worthy of purchase.
Candlejack
Sweet...I am looking forward to this and many other PS3 items that are FINALLY arriving this year.
Seiven
Using an in-house PS3 store application makes so much sense. Where's the movie and music downloads?
gozirah
@Lanhoj: Looks nothing like the 360 blade interface.....
Kyle81
Looks better than the last one anyway.
sargemat
'it's no longer a web-based store'
ya ... and it looks like XBLM was what they modeled this after.
looks pretty good tho...obviously. copying a proving model normally does.
Lanhoj
i like the look of this more than the 360 interface...
hope the xbox GUI guys aren't sitting on their hands, the ps3 looks to be gaining on them!
crobar
@Candlejack:
ah give her a break.
You do know unless it's a first party PS1 game,you can't just slap it on the PSN and even then it's a little more involved.They know the issue is more PS1 games(PS2 also).
I'm just looking forward to itunes/ipod support(one day..)
enewtabie
Jade is so yesterday. Grace ftw!

I was waiting for this. Looks good. Informative video.
Also, Grace, thanks for the awesome choices regarding PS1 games you made for the store. Thanks a fuckin lot.

Looks nice... can't wait to test it.

@pot3ntial2suck: Agreed. But who's to say the rigorous fanboy base won't still hate on her for things that are potentially out of her control. I'm sure she doesn't have the say in what goes up and what doesn't. Damn shame.

i wasn't all that unhappy with the previous store. i'm not sure why people always got so upset over it. the design wasn't the problem, it was always content.
btw, she seems to have a minor speech impediment. either that or the audio tech needs to adjust the levels and/or de-hiss the vid again.

Now add some content.

@flubbity: She looks like any other Asian girl....

It's soooo pretty!!!... *droooooools*...
The old store wasn't bad but this store is so much better. I love the fact that you can watch the stuff now without leaving the store and going all the way back inside.

Yeah, this new interface is a million times better than the web based POS from yesteryear.

It's amazing to actually SEE Grace Chen. She has been demonized passionately on the Playstation boards and there have been countless calls for her to be fired after each crappy store update. Hopefully she can redeem herself in the eyes of the fan base.

The store is looking very nice. While it would be nice to get demo's for every psn game, the preview function is a nice feature to have. Mainly so I don't have to go check youtube or ign every time a new game comes out so I have some idea of what it's actually about.

Looks pretty sweet, now if Sony can pull it off with Home, they might just have themselves a winner.
At the very least it is making me think long and hard about renewing my XBox live susbscription.
Cruithne
she is so hot...omg i want to marry her
flubbity
Guess I should have sent this over.I posted it in the other post about the store when it went up on the blog.
