Factor 5 needs to stay the fuck away from my Kid Icarus and learn to make a Star Wars Game that does not have a Hoth Level, a trench run Death Star Level, shitty foot missions or forced motion controls from them.

The Brawl model is perfect and Nintendo needs to do it in house or farm it out to someone loyal and how can do a viable platformer, because Factor 5 isn't it.

are you kidding, this looks awesome, if it wasn't a "Kid Icarus" game, people would probably like the concept. I never played a Kid Icarus and so this looks fine to me. Teenagers are still kids, and none of those drawings does Pit look older than 18-19.

Definitely want a new one. Would prefer a new 2D one. And odds are they'll use a variant on the Brawl design, since it sort of reintroduced the character.

This one they are wanting to have Pitt commiting some crime that makes him a fallen angel. Depending on what he did or if he was framed then I would gather Nintendo wouldn't want a mascot character to be a criminal. Though I don't know how Nintendo sees Kid Icarus as. The designs are pretty cool, but I think that the Kid Icarus series does not lend itself to the new Wii market. Those games were too difficult for non gamers, so a new one would have to be a lot less challenging.

But even then, Factor 5 can make some great games (recent missteps aside).

though im a big fan, IMO the first game's one didnt fit with the story at all...

I remember how badass it sounded when i first listen about it "you are an ex-commando angel trapped in the deeps of hell that is on a quest to save this godess from this hoard of monsters armed with only a bow as you hit the hideous creatures and take their hearts away to sell them in the black market so you can save your army and conquer the heavens"...

My problem is on how will Factor 5 capture the essence of the Kid Icarus in the game; i can hardly see it as a FPS, maybe a Zelda based game with some SPS/TPS implementation, but not a as first person...either that or keep the game as a second-person platform, but i think the "series" wont progress if it goes that way

I ono; I liked the brawl kid icarus model. I think it was a better representation of the kid icarus sprite and I think it would bring a connection in a new adaptation similar to young/toon link of Zelda.

I'm hoping for a Kid Icarus AAA title. It might just add the final motivation for me to add that little white wii next to my large black PS3.

Although if Factor 5 is making it, and it has the same hype and problems of Lair, then it looks like this kid will be flying too close to the sun (wow that sounded better in my mind).

If anything, I don't think Nintendo would outsource a major IP (albeit aged) to a third party dev. like Factor 5. Nintendo needs another major game to look forward to or it will lose its near continous momentum to the other two consoles. So far sony has the most amount of AAA titles coming out in the palpable future

I do feel that if a new Kid Icarus game is made that Pit should stay young. Maybe not true adolescence young, but definitely not I-belong-on-the-cover-of-some-strange-romance-novel-old either....
That having been said, I find it strange how averse everyone here is to the idea of an older Pit.
I remember getting in arguments with people over a similar situation commonly known as the "Celda" debacle. It seemed that once they made Ocarina of Time Link he could only be a teen, and that it was the true Link, and therefore the child Link was quickly dismissed when the graphics were changed, even though Windwaker was an amazing game, and before OoT Link had always been a young boy.
Try to keep an open mind about these things. It's about time for a new, amazing Kid Icarus, and I'll be interested to see what they come up with for it, whether it's a young Pit who draws on the classic, or an older, more mature Pit with a new gameplay style and visuals to match.

My god, Kid Icarus is supposed to be a cheerful game about a greek kid with wings killing eggplant wizards. This looks more like a depressing, twisted, deviantArt'sy version of Pit.

@Pornosaur: I would say those were complaints from people who actually played the game. I knew many, many people who flat-out refused to play it in the first place because they didn't like the, and I quote, "kiddie graphics". It pissed me off so bad...
Also I totally agree with you about tediousness with sailing and all. It was actually my only complaint about the game. I thought the story had a LOT of strength behind it. The game still contains one of my favorite cutscenes of all time.

My point in mentioning this in terms of Kid Icarus, though, was simply that we shouldn't completely dismiss a character that we're not used to, because it could turn out well, and I wanted to use Teen Link as an example.

The scene was the one around the midpoint of the game, when you enter the Temple and everything is frozen, and then, everything unfreezes after the explanation of what has happened and why Hyrule was hidden and everything. It just absolutely took my breath away, because I wasn't sure how this story fit in. I mean, there were obvious clues, but the way they pieced it together was wonderful and beautiful to me, and the colors and everything...I just thought it was badass

I personally like how McWhertor chose possibly the worst of the, like, 30 concept designs to put on the front page. There are several designs that look like they could be real sexy.

Besides, this could be Nintendo's "adult" franchise. They really only need one kidd- I mean, "kid-centric" game after all, right? And it would fit the crushing difficulty better.
