I looked at Import Tuner magazine's website and history of videogame reviews, and they've reviewed a lot of games. The only game I could find that got less than a 4 (note: I didn't look at all the reviews, but maybe a good 100 or so of them), was GOD HAND for the PS2.

They gave Lair a 4. They gave Genji a 4. They gave God of War 2 a 4. They gave Bioshock a 4. In fact, the only games I could find that got a 5 were either car-releated, or Assassin's Creed. Heh. It seems to me that they give a 4 to just about everything.

Didn't get chance to play it yet but watched my nephew go through the whole demo. It's like any other FPS but I can honestly say that about every other FPS except Bioshock. It's a 7.5 game imho, Not HL2 great but not bad either.

I bought the game, played the campaign with online friends, and it was a frickin blast! I LOVE HAZE!!

And the other online modes are awesome too. I spent 12+ hours playing HAZE yesterday.

I advise anyone thinking about it, not to rest their decision on the demo. It really doesn't hardly touch how the game really is. And once you know the mechanics of both Mantel and Promise Hand (especially promise hand) HAZE is a blast to play.

Oh, and I will admit, it hit me pretty quickly that the graphics aren't all that awesome, but I got over that pretty fast. In fact, Ima go play HAZE right now =)

@LittleBigPlaneteer: Definitely right about all that--it had a decent plot that had potential, but then they had to go and make the gameplay mediocre at best. They didn't need to revolutionize gameplay mechanics--just make it fun enough to play through. The demo didn't even hold my attention the FIRST time I played through it--that's why I was concerned initially.

If 5 minutes of gameplay doesn't hold me on the very first play through. then there's definitely a problem with the game.

Call me a sheep, then. I remember when people were doing the exact same thing with Assassin's Creed, trying to convince us how much it sucked and how we should save our money. Glad I didn't listen then as I won't listen now. Most of the people bashing the game haven't even played, won't ever play it, and will bash the game whenever it's name is mentioned in the conversation without a first hand experience to go on.

Still, I'm not saying the game will even be good. However, I'm damn sure not going to be a "sheep" and pass judgement on how bad it is, just because such and such's favorite game site said, "Itz teh suxorz!!!"

I said it in a different thread yesterday and I'll say it here: the game isn't nearly as bad as most reviews are making it out to be. Solid 7 out of 10 material. Good fun which (though many people will probably crucify me for saying this) is strikingly similar in feel to Halo: CE.

The rebels have some cool moves that make them quite fun as well. So far I have only played about 4-5 hours, but I like the rebels as much if not more than the Mantel troopers.

I am hoping that there might be some missions where I get to be a Mantel Trooper again though, as it would be nice to get to experience the other side again.

Best comment on this thread. I have personally already enjoyed Haze more than Halo 3's single player, but sadly the press must not have gotten their kickback check when Haze review time came around...

I don't have a PS3 yet (eventually, but no rush) so I haven't had the enjoyment of experiencing the demo. Therefore, I can't comment first hand, but I have to say, the trailer is pretty cool. It's a shame. I would probably buy this anyway (I loved Timeshift, if that tells you anything) but I guess this isn't the greatness it was thought to be.

I'm ashamed of the video games press for dogging this title. I think a bit of bandwagon jumping is going on here. I can think of a good few FPS games that have received higher scores in reviews that, in my opinion, are far worse than this title. I know it's not an amazing game, but it's not a sub 50% game. I would give it about 65-70%. I feel most reviews were too busy taking into account the delays and how much they wank over the Call of Duty and Halo games.

I know it's not an amazing game, but it's not that bad, and 4.5 out of 10 is a joke score!

I just hope that Free Radical don't get burnt by the press reaction to this title, and bring back some timesplitters love!

The concept of nectar is ok, but even the trailer just leaves you like, "Meh. Nice idea, but looks poorly executed." Too bad. Even the "Evil corporation needs to go down" thing has been done a million times - just an excuse to not have to differentiate all the bad guys - give them all the same armor. I'd really like a new FPS for either PS3 or 360, but there's not much in the works until fall and Resistance2 along those lines, unless I am forgetting something.

I had a bad feeling about this game from the beginning... you know why? They used both pre-rendered FMV characters and live action characters in their videos...

It might not sound like much but it indicated to me that the developer had no concept of aesthetics. I'm also tired of seeing the same cut-scene edited into every trailer of this game.

Sorry for the negativity but Free Radical needs a strong creative visionary at the helm.

I liked the demo, i thought it was a solid shooter (terrible voice acting aside). I'll probably end up buying it just for the coop and MP. I really like what they did with the weapons, how they feel and sound, and that goes a long way for me in a shooter.
