Wait now EA are saying people do buy PC games? You can't blame piracy for poor sales of shit games then turn around and expect gratitude for bringing something new to a stale market.

i'm curious about the requirements on the game. but either way, i'll definately be picking this one up.

They HAVE to include copy protection, otherwise its not worth the development cost. Piracy on PC games is ridiculously high. I dont see anyone complaining about steam anymore?

Hmm, cool news but I'd have preferred Burnout 3 or Dominator.

Sellouts! What happened to Criterion's saying of "We don't make PC games"?
Just joking, put down your torches, actually I've always wanted a PC Burnout since part 2.

Let's just hope they don't do something silly like cram it full of annoying copy-protection schemes.

why this and not army of two? seems to me driving games on PC are never popular.
not that im saying they should release AO2 over Burnout... since the latter is a better game

@Pandaschreck:
That's because Steam is copy protection done correctly - it doesn't make things more difficult for the player, it actually makes things much much easier than a traditional off-the-shelf game.
Of course leaving copy protection off altogether is another wise move, as the more savvy publishers are discovering!

Burnout is the single greatest racing series around, it's great to see it come to the PC.
Given that there is a strong online multiplayer focus to Burnout, the inevitable 10 day reactivations won't bite that hard. Although I wish that EA would just fork out the money for a system that works like Steam.

Day #1 Purchase! Then Ill cry when my PC blows up due to graphical requirements.
Id would skip buying a 360 alltogether if Ace Combat 6 would be ported to PC. already have DMC4 on the way to the PC too...

Oh, btw, Criterion, EA, how about some Burnout love for the Wii? No brainer, must look better then the PS2 and offer both wiimote and classical/Gamecube support. I have all PS2 only Burnouts and 1 and 2 for the GameCube. I would BUY burnout on the Wii in a blink of an eye, if it was on the level with those versions (especialy 2 and takedown, my favorites).
Just putting it out there, hoping some PR reads it...
My money = Yours! (<-suttle, no?)

@Bitkari: Oh yeah, like playing a game on Steam, when suddenly their servers fuck-up or your routing glitches for a second, you're ejected, losing progress and everything. This way correctly done?
It's not something rare, either.
Anyways, cheers to BP coming to the PC, I know a lot of people on the fence for it, as they can't afford a PS3 (and can't risk for a x360). Plus, PC games are 50% cheaper :D.

I guess that makes sense since EA are the masters of cross-platform porting everything onto everything. Kind of weird looking back on it that they hadn't tried before, though I guess they didn't develop Burnout themselves.
And there are still people who hate Steam, they're just targets of fanboy beatdowns now that Orange Box is out. I get tired of repeating myself, but when Steam eventually shuts down, as all things do in time, just wait for the cries of bloody murder as millions of people can no longer install or play hundreds - or thousands by then - of dollars worth of games they own anymore.

I just went to their website, and holy hell do they have a TON of updates coming for Paradise throughout the rest of the year. Like, more than most games ever get in their lifetime. Wonder what they're working on that they haven't announced? The Sellers update with drivable nukes?

"community driven content"
in other words, PC gamers will mod the game and make their own tracks. whether criterion planned it or not.
what's new for consoles is old news for PCs.

I hope someone makes a mod for the PC version to put a driver in the car. The one thing that drove me nuts about the demos on both PS3 and 360 was that the cars did not have drivers. I wanna see some ragdoll bodies crashing through windshields... please?

and u are going to lose sales...

I know this because I live in a third world country where 99% of people buy pirated games...

Omfg, great news! Way to go Criterion!
@TheApprentice: How will they "lose" by making it available on another platform?
Plus, all this "PC gamers are PIRATES" is bullshit, it's not like people can't mod their xbox and play "backups".
And copy protection is bullshit, it'll never stop pirates... Sins of a Solar Empire has awesome sales with no "copy protection", you only need a cd-key for online play - which is an awesome way to encourage people to play the original.

@TheApprentice: Really? In the Caribbean where you live 99% of people buy a pc capable of running modern games and then BUY pirated games but dont have the sense to pirate themselves? Strange indeed.
I know exactly what your trying to do with the statement you made. Your so full of it i can smell it from here!
The pc community are going to get a better version of one of your precious ps3 games and that bothers you so much that you would say anything.
I know your kind, i`ve met them before.
Is there another reason why you would give a damn about it?
Maybe your just looking out for EAs interests out of good will and want to warn them of the dangers of releasing it?
