...the really sad thing is that if nothing improves over summer, this is likely the package I will by my PS3 in... and I feel kind of sad about that...

I am looking to purchase a new PS3, but I want a bundled system if possible. Does anyone know where I can get something like that? Obviously I want one with the DS3 as well. Everywhere I look its just the standard PS3 system, unless I live in Japan. I am donating my PS3 to my brother to help him join the "next gen" of gaming. So a replacement for myself I would like to get a packaged bundled system....

@Aethyr: June 27th I think... but that's nothing to how Sony keeps kicking us with the PS3... this seriously is the most expensive MGS4 bundles of them all (compares to 71500 yen, or abut 60k yen + sales tax) and we get less than anybody for it.

@Cenobia: Well, maybe not the lack of Rumble... but the lack of even acknowledging the existence of it in Europe (added with SCEE's other mistreatment of Europe) could hold me off from getting one over the other. Now I already have a 360 and a Wii and I'm determined to get a PS3 as well (already got some games and Blu-Ray movies purchased when found cheap) but Sony's treatment of Europe really puts me off at times.

@ProsaCC: Just got the GTAIV pack for the same price, with 40GB and sixaxis, so it'll be surprising (and a little frustrating for me, at least) if they pack an 80GB in for e.440 in five weeks.

This was actually my last hold-out consideration before taking the plunge and getting the must-have game bundled with the less-than-desired version of the console. The first images of the MGS4 bundle (with French text on the box) indicated an 80GB, but that seems to have been the Canadian version.

It came down to not playing GTA for six weeks, in the vain hope that Sony would start offering Europe a choice of which version of their console to buy. The chances of that started to seem somewhere between Buckley's and sod all when looking at the last GTA bundle in town.

As much as I'd (still) like the option of getting a BC machine, I'm kinda glad Sony didn't use the GTA launch to pressure hold-outs like me to get a 40 just before they released the 80/120 in EU.

I have hold out on buying either 360 or PS3 and wait for "further developments" due to both machines being absolute crap (sorry to be blunt) in terms of either hardware (360), online (PS3), lack of must have exclusive games(PS3, up to MGS4), gimped PS3 hardware for euroland and one fun filled year of stupid mistakes one after another to the European public (you know, the public that worships them!).

I Love MGS4 and every Kojima game I've come across (Hint: Snatcher needs a remake on the Wii or DS) and I do hope MGS4 is a 10/10 (even after his frontal honesty about the Cell on EDGE last month). I hope everyone who bought a PS3 based on Sony's hype will finnalyhave their hard earned €s justified.

As for me, this is the last straw on a long list of being misstreated by Sony (and I have both PSX and PS2). They need a good lesson in humility. Why the hell do I need a SIXAXIS!? Rumble is last gen!? To hell with you, Sony. The only light of beacon that would still make me consider your BluRay player was the price of this pack and not even such a simple thing you made this right.

Oh, and just for the record, if anyone wonders the 1st time when I started considering the 360 in my future instead of the PS3: The day I came to Kotaku and Namco announced Ace Combat 6 on the 360 only.

Maybe niche, maybe im just a minotiry, but owning every single game from that series (including the japanese, non cut PSX AC3 Electrosphere original) I find it baffling that there isn't >A SINGLE AIRPLANE COMBAT GAME< on the PS3 in its entire lifeline*. 360 has ACE6, Wii has Heatseeker and will get "The Sky Crawlers" from Project Aces.

So here I am, single Wii owner, waiting for the dust to settle, trying to make the best possible decision to jump to a second console for this eneration. Peer pressure is a b*tch, acutally, since all of my friends own 360s. Not a single one of my friends has a PS3 (and all of them are, like me, PSX/PS2 owners)! Considering I live in Sonyland (thats Portugal, btw) , Sony must be doing something really WRONG, to make long time supporters completly turn away, even with MGS4 on the horizon.

If any of you STILL think that Sony is a saint... you really don't live in Europe, do you?

Sigh, oh well...

I have been holding off getting a PS3 and was hoping that either GTA IV or MGS4 would have bought about an interesting, added value bundle. Say, a colour change (e.g. gunmetal) or the inclusion of a Dual Shock 3 - either of those would have tipped the balance for me. It's not much I know but at least I would feel like a wanted customer, rather than the runt of the continental litter getting fed the leftover scraps.

For me, the original MGS was the first game (and one of the few) to use the Dual Shock rumble to its full potential. The shudder of the Hind D. The use of rumble on controller port 2 when attempting to fight Psycho. It was used in subtle, clever, immersive ways rather than the on/off distracting approach of other games.

Since then rumble has been a great addition to the series. It is a great shame that by the time the DS3 comes out in Europe many would have already experienced rumble-less MGS4.

Sadly, like some others above, I will probably resign to fate and purchase the bland bundle regardless, rather than continue to kid myself something better will turn up.
