Summer Blockbuster Maximise Licenced Crap Profit
Posted by Michael McWhertor at 8:40 AM on June 11, 2008
Summer blockbusters don't just line the pockets of film studio executives and actors working on a percentage of the gross, it looks like they help resellers of licenced games too. According to a bit of research from the Video Game Price Charts blog—I've used them in the past when selling my unwanted games via eBay—the time to strike when selling your copy of Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine or Iron Man / X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal is when the movie adaptations hit theatres.
Yes, there's even a market for the terrible PlayStation Speed Racer game! Plenty of interesting charts and graphs await hopeful auctioneers at VGPC. I'm off to put a spit shine on my copy of The X-Files for PSone in anticipation!

I'm ashamed to admit I also have a copy of The X-Files for PS1... What? What!? I didn't know any better at the time, stop looking at me like that.

I played that Iron Man/Manowar crap before. Almost got seizures with crappy graphics that almost seem like the developers wanted anyone who played it to develop brain tumors.
What the? What's with the summer air that helps people unload crap to other people? Is it the weather? The jock-strap taste? C'mon people tell me. As I obviously am not from America and have no idea why...=D

I got a couple of DBZ stuff, but I'm afraid the movie will suffer and so will the prices of my stuff :(

I still got that IM/XO game on my Saturn. I really liked it, except for having to write down an enormous password. Seemed pretty stupid on a console with internal memory. The game itself was pretty fun though.

I really liked the Ironman/XO Manowar when I was a kid. It was also my first PS1 game. I remember having a lot of fun playing the co-op with my brother.

I picked a fantastic time to sell of my own copy of the x-files last month. "Look before you leap" damn right. But this is true in the sense that once i saw The new Jones movie i bought all the old ones and any of the games (being one) i could find in my local "Random stuff" shop. I may have gotten them on a jacked up price too.
