So I received a copy of Spore Creator today and sat down with it to create the sort of abominations that in the real world would last only long enough to curse my creating them. It's pretty neat. Initially you feel very limited but once you get the feel for the thing you can go hog wild, though I suspect creating a person may not be possible... dammit. Anyway I spent an hour or so messing around with creatures. I have until next week to submit a creature for Spore to EA. They're going to then let the Internets decide which "Celebrity" Spore creation is the best among the 50. Other competitors? Rumour has it they include Stan Lee and David Byrne. HOT!

Dang! I meant to say, tits on the tits themselves, and the mini-tits will be holding grenade launchers and wearing masks with Carl Weathers' face (circa Predator) on them. Bobby Kotick takes his M-rated game content VERY seriously.

Oh, the pressure is on.
More than anything you should keep it simple yet appealing. Doesn't matter if you put hundreds of limbs on it, it will suck.
Someone managed to make a bicycle creature. That was awesome. Try making an inanimate object into a creature.

Just a question though; I know it's an opinion thing, but would you pay 10 dollars for the Creature Creator itself? Or do you think it's not enough on its own to justify a purchase?
Just wondering because I'm debating whether or not to download the free version or buy retail

Not possible to do humans, because no humans has freakshly horrible googly eyes.
Same reason why I almost completely lost interest in Spore.
Is someone among the 50 contestants is able to do something that reminds me of the first creatures in the very first demos of Spore, this one will be the winnar!

@Terrorsaur.: Just tricky, I'm going to do a post tomorrow on the creature creator and discuss it more. But the body creation is quite dicey. Not in a bad way just in a where-the-fuck-is-the-head option way.

Seriously though, DB is into Spore? I have no real interest in it but it's cool he'll be playing it. I hope we'll get a Kotaku post showcasing the celeb contributions.
