It seems to me that the only purpose of the tattoo is to make others think you're cool or some such. I say this because if a person really loved an image so much that he should wish to look at it 24/7 he could put it on his notebook, hang it on the wall in his room, or his in cubicle, etc...

So, with that out of the way, we can conclude that the individual who now finds himself in morass and thoroughly pilloried and rebuked by kotakuites, wasted his money in order that others might think him cool. This interpretation of facts is further supported by the fact that, having gotten the tattoos, directly he sent pictures of it to Kotaku.

See this is a perfect example of why it's not good to get complex gaming tattoos unless you're with a dependable artist who cares. This looks terrible - Snake's face is warped, and Eva looks like she's put on mounds of eyeshadow and been hit in the face a few times. The coloring isn't bad, but that's not nearly good enough for me if I'm going to get something that large permanently plastered onto my hands.

I like the idea of gaming tattoos, being both an avid gamer and a fan of tattoos... I've got a D20 on my shoulder, and that's it for now. God, they're expensive nowadays.

But I just really can't dig this one. I love me some MGS, and I think it's awesome that he went with Zombie face-paint specifically (most assuredly, nobody else will ever have that exact tattoo). Points for originality and concept, definitely. It just doesn't look that good, ya know? The way Snake's face is curving, I just feel like it could have been way better if it were somewhere else on his body. Somewhere with more space, for something so intricate.

Either way, it's pretty neat to look at. One of those, "Eh.. I wouldn't want it, but props to the guy who did."

As for me... meh. I'm aspiring to be a tattoo artist, and although there's some of it I like, the overall tattoo just looks bad. For one thing look at Eva. She doesn't even look like Eva. Maybe Eva's mom. & the color work on her just makes her look ugly. Green is not a good skin color for a person, no matter the medium.

Snake looks better overall as the coloring was pulled off pretty well, but the same thing with Eva, it doesn't look like him too well and, again, green is not a good color for skin (something I learned in an art history class.) If it were blue and black that'd be cool, cuz to me those are Snakes colors.
