Being Alan Wake Is Kinda Like Hollywood!

What's it like being Alan Wake? No clue! But maybe actor Ilkka Villi knows — he is Alan Wake. The character was modeled after him. He's visited developer Remedy several times since 2005 when shooting started. (Interesting to note that the last session was in 2007!) Villi had no idea that video game productions were so big, adding:
You don't get to follow a production this huge in other entertainment business here in Finland. I saw Alan Wake posters made for an international game convention a few years back. I realised this is the closest to Hollywood I'll ever get.
Not necessarily a bad thing.

this game makes me shiver just thinking about it. but then again, im a wuss when it comes to scary games. i had my friend play through "all the levels with flood in them" after getting the crap scared out of me the first time you see them in halo:ce. little did i know that was the rest of the levels....

How odd, I was just thinking about this game a week ago, wondering if it'd been cancelled. Those early trailers showed promise, I liked the atmosphere.

Yeah, those were the last vids I remember, when they were demonstrating the new (at the time) quad-core processors.
I'd be surprised if they didn't show something at E3.

Interesting. I always thought that they modeled the titular character off of Christian Bale.
Every time I read about this game, I get very agitated, as it's the game I've had to wait for the longest that I care about the most. Or something. Hopefully we get something very concrete at E3.

I have been interested in Alan Wake since I saw the first few screens and read about the story line. I will continue to wait but it better not be a letdown when it does finally come out.

2007? That's not really assuring news. I think we need to hear something from Alan Wake at E3 or people will think this is already cancelled.
Hey being immortalized in videogame media isn't that shabby...Not to mention if Alan Wake does well, he'll be on tap to play the sequels.

LOL.. Did anybody else not laugh at his quote when he this game would be the closest to Hollywood he'd ever get? Gotta love guys that are realistic of their careers and are happy go-lucky.

I loved both Max Payne games for their execution, some of the most fun 10 hours of shooting with well done clichéd storylines I've ever played. The definied in game bullet time and made it fun.
All the trailers look very promising, so I'm just still going to hold out hope. I'm slightly expecting it to be a masterpiece when and if it ever shows its face.

Oh, this just reminded me. Remedy informed that they are looking for multiple artists and animators for Alan Wake about month back. For a company of 30 people upping their staff with 6 would seems to imply something big is happening.

This game is supposed to be pretty big. I don't know where in the world some of you heard it was canceled. LOL
One of the few games I've been really wanting to see an update on. Should be beautiful when we see it again. Expect it to be at E3.

Anyway, curious if this game will live up to it's graphics and draw distance... and if the town is big, or some little podunk (if I were a gambling man, I'd go for the podunk... I can't see those graphics holding a huge town).
