Fallout 3 Collector's Edition In The Flesh

Bethesda has posted the official contents of their Fallout 3 Collector's Edition package, leaked and confirmed in April via GameStop, and while everything promised is indeed represented, from lunch box to art book to making off DVD, but there is something different about the Vault Boy Bobblehead. Rather than the approving, thumbs-up tossing bobble I received back in July of last year during the press preview, this Vault Boy stands in judgment, arms folded across his chest as he weighs your worth and finds you joyously wanting.
This of course means that the thumbs-up bobblehead could still be auction viable, should some unscrupulous member of the gaming press choose to part with him. Unfortunately I've grown accustomed to the daily affirmation my little plaster pal gives me, so for now he stays on my mantle lovingly nestled between Cortana and Kos-Mos, as he should be.

@3inst3in: only because we know it's runing on the same modified gamebryo engine with a few additional video tweaks. expect it to be somewhat similar reqs.

Vault Boy with 2 hot artificial chicks on each arm....
It's how it should be.
I hope Gamestop isn't the only place you can get the collectors edition. If that's the case, it ain't happening for me.
If I can get it from Amazon, it's a done deal.

I have this edition pre-ordered and have been watching the trailer on repeat. I need something to "look forward" to after MGS4 releases. I think I find it more fun to fawn after an unreleased game than play some of the ones I own.

I've never played a Fallout, and I never buy Collector's Editions, but that metal lunch box is glorious.

i dunno, im def getting the game (looks compelling) but i would hate to get a collector's edition on a game im playing for the first time. GTA4, and MGS4 are the only SE i will be owning so far for 08. although i will say the for fans of the game it is a kick-ass collector's edition

Not that I'm attracted to preorder/super edition swag often, but a lunchbox? Consider me convinced! Vault boy and the rest is just icing on the cake. Only a few games have really caught my interest with such neat extras, this being one, the Warhammer Online special edition collector bundle thingy being another.

JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS!!
Looks like the bobblehead included is lower quality than the one the press got.
Especially a bummer since I was waiting for it to join ranks with my high-quality Viewtiful Joe preorder bonus bobblehead.
This new bobblehead doesn't even retain the same contrapposto stance of the press bobble, instead standing in a stiff, locked position.
Consider me incredibly disappointed Bethesda. :(

I'd like to pre-order this edition of Fallout, but I'll have to decide where is likely to get {got burned on ordering special editions in stores that ended up not carrying them and not informing me before}.

I just figured out that the statue of happiness (GTA IV) that rockstar sent me and press only is going for between $70-100 on ebay...jeez.

Now this is a special edition worth getting. Just like with Bioshock, I want a little something more, not just some extra bonus features that I'm never gonna watch.
Include a figure, and I will always get the SE.

I was going to avoid FO3 altogether (Oblivion was full of meh for me, don't hate, just my opinion), but I'd pay CE price alone for that dang lunchbox. =/

I've already put my bucks down for the collector's edition preorder. that lunch box will be mine, and I will bring my lunch to work in it everyday.

Lunch Box? I'm in! Hell I haven't played Fallout before but judging from what most people have said, I'll be awaiting this with gusto.
I'll put that gusto in that lunch box. Any idea if this has a Thermos or something inside? =D

fatigued looking retro swag FTW. I loved the manuals that came with Fallout 1 and 2 and I've got to see that art book.
...though I never get special edition bundles, the book must either be coming separately or there will be a LOT of special edition bundles!

No thumbs up must be due to the Bioshock broken drill fiasco. They probably figured that if there were not any parts of the bobble head sticking out, they can't be broken during shipping...

You can preorder it now from amazon. If you preorder from gamestop they will throw in a poster and the game soundtrack.
