In regards to the 360 questions, I think I can liken it best to a supervised schoolyard playground (PC) vs. Lord of the Flies (360). I play on a 360, just cause I'm not a PC FPS guy, but I have friends who live and die by the PC, so I have seen both in action and it is a marked difference.

But getting back to my analogy, are both situations fun? Fuck yes. Does one have more and better built equipment? Yes. Is one overrun with unruly, perverse _children_? Of course. But it's totally worth it.

@Thugmunk: I think it's more an indication of what the Source engine can do. It's honestly a shame that more developers don't consider making use of Source. Certainly with the animations and facial detail it has the advantage of making believable characters. For story-based projects, it can do so much more than most other engines. It's also a powerful tool for Machinima, what with the lip syncing for dialogue. Combine Nation is a good example of a Machinima made in Source (Although it was unfortunately cancelled when the creator had a hard drive failure).

I don't have very many issues anymore, they have mostly been patched out. Sometimes getting into a game is fidgety, but all you need is a little patience. And lag is pretty nil now.

If nothing else, it definitely shows the capabilities of the TF2 game in terms of machinima. Sure, it seems as if they used mo-cap, and of course they are professionals.. but still, TF2 machinima can look really great.

What's really interesting is that I've played the game the whole time figuring the sniper to be much more gruff and a bit brooding. Watching this puts all of his taunts and mannerisms in a much funnier tone. And funny is a big reason why I play TF2.

Man, the guys at Valve are brilliant. They always succeed at making you care about the EXPERIENCE of the game. Usually by fleshing out the universe around the title. It's not really such a hard thing to do (although it's probably deceptively hard to do WELL), but so few developers make much of an attempt unless it's questionable tie-in fiction.

(And yes, every single HALO book is questionable tie-in fiction.)

Valve just works so slow that their ad campaign for the game wasn't done, even after the game came out.
Hence, the sniper video right now.

Though the soldier's line is still my favorite:

I must say, snipers are the most painful kills for me in most 1st person shooters. I prefer someone kicking my ass the old fashioned way, not traipsing through "Creek" in CoD4 and getting pwned by the other team which is fully comprised of said snipers.

@PhiCancri: I've only played it on the PS3 and I love it. It gets a little wonky when I'm using the PS3s wireless, but it's definitely doable. My biggest gripe is that there aren't enough people playing maps other than "2Fort" and "Dustbowl". I must've waited about 15 minutes to get 4 people to join up for "The Granary".
