This would be completely awesome since I don't like realistic shooters... I prefer alien goo over trying to recreate historic events where thousands of actual human beings actually died because the leaders of the world are too stupid to solve conflicts through poker or some other peaceful(ish) way. I never played the original CoD games since I didn't want reminders of what a complete waste of human lives real wars are.... let me shoot made up aliens or cartoonish characters (or annelids for that matter) any day.

Anyone expressing antipathy for this (rumored) title needs to frame in his mind very clearly the legendary scales of suck. On one end of the scale, imagine a sci-fi Call of Duty designed by Infinity Ward-- imagine the title failing as hard as Infinity Ward could allow. Now, on the other arm of the scale place any Call of Duty-- past, present, or future-- made by Treyarch.

I'll take my chances with Infinity Ward.

Given the timing wouldn't they need to be showing gameplay footage at E3? They will soon be begining work on CoD6 which means that this title if it exists must be near completion. That said I don't know that much about IW, perhaps they could be developing two games at once.

Ugh why is everyone raggin on Indy 4, I new there would be an Alien tie in of some form when I first heard the title cause it was a common idea within the whole legend of the Crystal Skull even though most tales about it are not real but still I know what direction they had in mind.

@Geoflame: WE know the next COD isn't made by IW. But the other dozen or so people who bought COD4 and aren't lurking videogame sites might get duped (I say duped here in the loosest sense that COD5 might be good after all).

I read it somewhere that Activision might be considering the notion of COD4 as its main online FPS and COD5 continuing the series itself. Not bad considering COD4 is still selling like hotcakes.

My personal theory is Activision is making IW make a new IP to combat Halo,Gears of War,Killzone, etc...Hey if anyone can make a (insert game here)-killer, it's IW.

I would not get may hope's up that this "allgeded" Sci-Fi game will be a COD set in the future.

If could be a New IP, since IW has only been making COD game's, and they want to branch out (hell, Treyarch has 3 game's on the go right now..............Spiderman: Web of Shadows, James Bond 007: Qautium of Solstice and COD: World At War).
