Glimpse of Curt Schilling's MMO Copernicus Coming Via Jace
Posted by Brian Crecente at 4:40 AM on July 9, 2008
From Crackle:
Jace Hall's next show is going to include an interview with Red Sox pitcher and MMO addict Curt Schilling along with an early look at Schilling's massively multiplayer game Copernicus. The actual show hits on Thursday. In the meantime hit the jump to listen to the catchy extended-version of the Jace Hall theme song. It has head-lopping and base capturing!

I watched all of the available eps a few weeks ago and enjoyed them. It's very quirky and Jase has a good sense of humor..Then again you'd have one too if you were a millionaire and was banging supermodels like he is.
And for those who don't know him, He's one of the founders of Monolith studios, better known for F.E.A.R and Bumfights-I mean Condemned.

I've been hearing him on "The Instance" warcraft podcast the last 4 or 5 months. I'm interested in this project but his play style in warcraft seems to be the opposite of mine from the various opinions he's given.

Same here... that was annoying as hell. Sorry to be offtopic, but I won't be watching any of that until there is some less obtrusive technology involved...

I wish Schilling good luck in this project. He truly is a fan of MMO's and hopefully he helps create a quality one. He seems to be gathering quality people in order to make a great game with deep story.
Heck many MMO fanatics like him would love a chance to make their own MMO. Tweaking it the way he wishes. So lets see what a MMO fanboy with the resources to create a game do?

well enjoy the days of actually having to click 'play' on some videos while you still can. Pretty soon they'll all be like this at the very least.

I actually kind of like Jace Hall. His interview with 3D Realms was pretty cool, if a bit forced-- I would've liked it better if he'd simply said, show me the game, instead of making it entertainment. I'm looking forward to seeing something about Schilling's MMO-- he's talked pretty cogently about them in the past, and he spends a lot of time playing, so hopefully this could be awesome.
But this video is little more than a series of commercials. Please remember to post the actual interview video when it's available-- because I'd really like to see that!

i'm not a huge fan of videos that play when you mouse over them, with ads you cant pause, makes my speakers at work kinda broadcast stuff that it shouldnt.

I'm pretty intrigued about this game actually, since Todd Macfarlane and R.A. Salvatore are part of the dev team as well.

Schilling has some big names working with him on his MMO project, Todd McFarlane is doing the art and R.A. Salavatore is writing the story.
As such I'm very interested in what they're brewing up.

Disclaimer: AL pitchers are a joke and as such should never be granted celebrity status. Let's see you mow down those batters with chin high fastballs in the NL. Pedro tried it his first couple games with the Mets then abruptly quit and his stats are much more average since.

I hope it has a secret level that talks about how great George Bush is in lieu of the cow level! It wouldn't be a Shilling bit if he doesn't proclaim how great his dear leader GW is.

What a joke, he was on the DL for this POS?. Way to eat up Theo's money; I hope you make the weight cutoff line to funnel another couple mil to your company.
I know, I still have the PCGAMES magazines where he used to review Everquest expansions. I am allowed to talk shit, since I've been in Boston for 15 years.
I still love you C. Schilling, just stop swindling our Baahhhston money. Perhaps time to hang that jersey @ Fen.

@Punkateer:
a joke? AL pitchers face 3X the talent level in hitters over the NL. You clearly know absolutely nothing about baseball. Probably should talk about it much honestly.

I swear, I never want to hear "all your base are belong to us" again. It's use is the very epitome of in-the-know coolness fraudulence.

According to Wikipedia, Jace Hall is credited for a big number of those games based on movies. He should be shot at sight
