Uh, well, uh, that was pretty cool, but why did that trailer feel a lot like I was watching a trailer for Rainbow Six Vegas 2? I just get this weird vibe off the trailer. Maybe it's the music, or the movement of the camera, but it just has that feel to it.

And I'll state right now, I like RSV2. It's fun. But yeah, I still feel weird about the directing on this trailer. It's like I've seen it before.

Loved Operation Flashpoint, still play it to this day....
But: Enough Gloosed up 'in engine' trailers already, and the game design better be similar to OFP.... I dont want to see a GR to GRAW or a Rainbow Six 3 to a R6 Vegas shite.
If all else fails Ill just keep playing ArmA and OFP.

They really screwed up releasing ARMA, which was OFP light with better graphics (barely) and a neutered story. OFP2 better be consistant with the story lines of the first game and ignore any work done during the ARMA phase.

Maybe that worked before, when you could make CG leaps and bounds above anything the game would look like, but at this point, just give it up!

All CG trailers do is make me mad. It's like they're saying "Oh, I know you're interested in my game, so here, watch a movie instead". >:(

I am really disappointed that with e3 next week, this is what they are giving us.

At least ARMAII is still on track to be released in 2008, so we have something good to look forward to.

And, yes, as the title of the game suggests, it is going to involve the Chinese.

I remember screwing around in the demo of the first game (never bought the first one though). Loved the way how you can die by sprinting down super steep hills. As well as blowing up your own guys and what not.

And yes, I also had the rainbow six feel from the trailer as well. Should be interesting, at least it isn't world war 2 all over again. (Looking at you CoD5)

Flashpoint was one of the most overlooked games a few years ago and I bought it because a friend recommended it to me. It is one of the few military sims where you actually get to plan out on the fly how you want to handle an objective. Now you might say well GRAW or Rainbow 6 lets you do that too. Well, to you I say GRAW and Rainbow 6(rainbow 6 sadly in its modern incarnation) hold your hand compared to Flashpoint. Any victories you had in the Flashpoint and its two expansions especially the Resistance Expansion was hard fought due to the difficulty.

However the series is very satisfying to the point where I would recommend to pc gamers now who haven't played the original to pick it up if you can find it.

This is not a flashpoint game,this is a military shooter made by codemasters who own the flashpoint name.The guys who made OFP left codemasters and made Armed Assault(ridiculousy fantastic mil sim)All those who claim to love OFP in this thread should be going and buying Behemia Interactives Armed Assault as its just a bigger better looking version of OFP.

I think the only problem i had with the game was the fact it was to similar to the original as i wiould have liked a few more advancements besides graphics.
