It's been known for a while that the console edition of Street Fighter IV would feature a few extra bells and whistles the arcade version would not. Biggest and best being extra characters. But just who are those extra characters going to be? Well, why don't you decide. Yes, in a surprisingly generous act of fan service, Capcom are letting fans vote for which Street Fighter characters not yet already in the game should be making the jump over to SFIV. Hugo, Ibuki or Sakura??? Hmmmmm this is a tough one. Ok Sakura is a shoto, thats definitely a plus. But how about some SF3 love? Hugo is a badass and can tackle zangief. I loved Ibuki's music in 3rd strike. So.... the winnner is...crap u need to sign-in to vote, f**k it.

The four characters from Super (Cammy, DeeJay, Fei-Long, and T.Hawk) should be in there from the start. Well, at least the first three.
Why do people want Sakura? What's the appeal? She was a total joke character to begin with, like Dan.
I have to agree withBPMΞ. Akuma should also be in the game as well.

Cammy? No thanks. I'm already sick of how much the SF3 characters are being ignored, so I'll be voting for Ibuki.
Hell, even (a presumed dead) Bison made it in, so I'll try to make this totally milked cashcow of a SF2 remake gain some respectability, naturally, by voting to add a SF3 character.
Oh yeah, and Third Strike--best 2D fighter is best.

I don't know how many characters are in SF4, but making me choose between Sakura and Cammy (Sakura, of course) kinda sucks sweaty balls.
I would want them to add Ibuki (and Elena, for that matter), if not only for some SF3 love.
Dan and Akuma should be in without question. One's the epitome of all awesomeness, the other's Akuma.

@HowardC: I've got to agree with you a bit there. It makes very little sense to keep adding offshoots of Ryu (or his better half, Ken :) ), as unique and awesome those characters are (Those characters being Dan, of course. Akuma's pretty cool, too, and he's Ryu's Rival, you he should be in- I never got the big deal with Sakura... She's a suckier Ryu!), when they could be adding in fully original, awesome characters, like Elena (Best character ever :O!), Ibuki (Come on, she's a ninja!), Hugo, Q, Twelve, Gill (Gill was brilliant, man), etc. etc. etc. Even the Alpha characters don't deserve obscurity.
In fact, after playing Street Fighter 3 I've got to say I prefer the SF3rd Strike fighters over the 2... Except for Cammy, she was awesome.

All the other selections are lame stereotypes, rip-offs of existing sf characters, or both.
To the sakura/dan/akuma fans... yeah that's all we need ANOTHER ryu clone to water down the game a little bit more.

Umm why not all of them from SF2 Turbo? Its not like they are changing any of the character designs or adding any new moves (as far as we can tell).

SFA2 takes place in/around 1989.
SFII takes place around 1991.
SFIII takes place around 1999.
SFIV takes place between 1994 and 1998 or so.
Sakura was 15 in '89.
She'd be 20-24 in Street Fighter 4.
Is this good or bad?
She wears a tracksuit in her elder appearance in Sakura Ganbaru!, the comic book where Karin made her first appearance (pre-SFA3).

@Humpski: I honestly thought that Akuma was already supposed to be in it. As for Dan and Sakura, Dan's QCF+P and Sakura's QCB+K make them each play drastically different from other shotos from a tactical standpoint.

i really wonder if people actually play street fighter or if theyre just into hentai... Ibuki was an awful character, Cammy isnt that fun either, Sakura is not bad but definitely not in the best ones. I voted for Hugo even if its not going to win. Dan would be good too since he wouldnt play like a regular shoto. I was really hoping for Remy or Alex though

I'm shocked and appalled that there aren't more people gunning for DeeJay. He was awesome! All nappy haired and dance like. Fought Capoeira, right? Now that was a sweet character, and original!
Sakura kinda sucks, that pansy runnunig Shoryuken and a Hadouken that doesn't even travel a quarter screen.
She, like Dan, is just a parody of the ripoffs of other companies, like SNK.
Also, my vote for greatest 2D fighter of all time: Capcom vs. SNK 2. No contest.

I've always loved Sakura because the idea of beating up all those tough guys with a high school girl always made me smile. I guess that's why I started using Makoto as well.
And Dan is just so comically bad, that it provides a real challenge after you've pretty much mastered the game and want to see how difficult you can make it for yourself. And I guess that's why I started using Sean.
Also, let's pretend that Sakura isn't extremely awesome and look at our other choices.

Looking through the comments here and there. Everyone seems to be voting Sakura. I always disliked that character, seems like a generic school girl character. The only thing she had going for her was the up skirts. Maybe Cammy and Sakura will come so close in polls they'll put them both in, why not?

thezman Well thats kind of crap dont you think? people choose Ryu and Ken over and over. Akuma has been my favorite character since they released him. so i can't help but vote for my favorite character. and the only bitch character i think is Sakura and Cammy most of these people who vote for them won't prolly even use them! SO AKUMA FTW!
