@umiman: Possible SPOILERS here but the plot currently stands that the Russians captured a Chronosphere and travelled back in time to kill Einstein. The resulting paradox has basically wiped RA2 from the history books and allowed the Rising Sun Empire to join the fray.

Shaping up nicely. I found a pleasant surprise the addition of Japan as a third faction to the old Allies vs Soviets formula.

I really liked the units I saw on the E3 trailer, had no clue thir special command unit as a flying japanese schoolgirl. Since they already have mechs and transforming macross-esque fighters, Id say they nailed every aspect of japan anime.

Count me in for this one, even if for all the wrong reasons. RTSs need more wackyness, to counter the realist of DOW2 (wich im sure ill also love).

This game is obviously unbalanced and broken. Why? BECAUSE THE PLAYER WITH THE ARMORED BEARS HAS TO WIN. You just can't fuck with bears who have to bear arms! Game over man.

I also hear they have dolphins with lasers attached to their head, or something of that order. Is this true? If so, this might be the first RTS I'll pick up since Age of Empires I.

Realism hasn't gone out of the window. In C&C realism has never been in the building. Maybe the car park though, yes.

One rifleman can't explode a tank.
A fully functional military base can't be build from a single vehicle.
I don't see alien crystals growing outside.
Nobody's running a network of laser satellites.
There's no .45 wielding women in tank tops singlehandedly turning the tide of battle.

There was NEVER any realism. C&C an action game with a point and click interface. It's made for fun and has always been campy. RA3 is just blatant with it! I've been a massive fan of C&C since 1995 and I welcome any release that shares its spirit.

I personally think it's good, even if it is ridiculous. I've never played any of the Red Alert games, though, so how reflective the box art is of the actual gameplay doesn't really figure into my opinion.
