365 Days of Free Games
Posted by Maggie Greene at 5:40 AM on July 28, 2008
Bored this summer? GamesRadar has an appallingly expansive (10 pages!) listing of a wide, wide variety of games available for free, with just about every genre under the sun represented (including the classic 'Victorian slap-fighting game'). Many have videos and most have screenshots, so you can just scroll down and see what catches your eye. Organised into thematic groupings ('King of Pain,' 'Polychromatic,' 'Suburban Drama'), there's plenty of options to please any palette and more than enough games to keep just about anyone busy for a long, long time.

Neat article. I've downloaded Toribash, Rumble Box and Ragdoll Matrix...along with playing about 15 online games.
I've collected some grea...holy crap.
I thought it was just one page (with the title meaning that combined they'd last 365 days...) I've got to get working on some of that list. Wowzah.

Man, the mother in the Victorian slapping game is frightening. She's some kind of demon-ninja or something...
Also, why the hell was the maid hanging on the ceiling like a monkey? :p

I played the slapping games many a-moons ago and beat it. It was awesome. Recently I've heard they made a sequel, but you have to beat the first one to be able to play it.

@ichiban1081: It's just got the HUGEST freaking learning curve.
All hail indie games: Labors of love by people who realize not all good games take 4 years and 100 people to make.

The Toribash video looked awesome, but when I downloaded the game and started to play I was underwhelmed. I guess I suck at physics games.

This fills me with dread, since if i check out one or two games on that list my OCD will compel me to have a go at all of them and that'll take forever. Arghhh.

If raptor safari isn't on that list it's instant failure.
Go to www.raptorsafari.com for a real great indie game!

I would like to thank the creators of the slap-fight game for adding the phrase "baseborn strumpet" to my vocabulary.

Hey, I remember this game! I believe it was covered in Kotaku about a year ago and there is a sequel. Never the less, sure is a fun free game. Going to play it again.
