Now that I think about it, maybe it does help a little with real drumming, but you're definitely not going to be bombarded with record contracts a la South Park by sitting behind a drumset for the first time after beating RB2.

And no, you don't need a 60,000 piece drumset to be good, but you'll sound better and you'll have more creative opportunity if you do.

Maybe they are not far off from the real thing, but I seriously don't think from playing RB and the real thing are the same, predominantly because RB TELLS you what to do. Playing drums alone doesn't give you a tempo or rhythm. That's something that develops from playing a real instrument. I would know since I play 3 instruments.

As Alex Navarro (rest in non-gamespot peace) once said: "after playing through expert mode with drums, you are no longer faking drums, you are really playing drums".

The guitar might be jibberish, but the rythm and handmovement you get from the drums COULD be applied in real life. You basically beat all the notes anyway =)
