I can't wait for some infuriated soccer moms to call this game a promoter of misogyny, and a fine example of how fictional females are being objectified by horny men in a male dominated industry, whose sole ulterior motive is to instill a false perception of women to impressionable young boys while playing with their juvenile toy console. Me? I'm going to say it's a generic action game.

I can't believe they finally brought a game in this series stateside. I still can't play OZ - Over Zenith, but they can bring Onechanbara.

@DasKonstruct: I dont have specific sales figures or anything, but I'd say no it didn't fail horribly on the 360 in Japan. Sure, it didn't sell a million copies or anything close to that, but I'm quite sure they didn't expect it to either. But I suppose it did sell well enough for them to continue making sequels (this wii game, and another new one coming out for the 360 that was announced a couple months ago).

This game is sooo bad that's actually fun :lol: Fun as a campy tv show, fun as a cheap B-horror movie at night with a couple of beers, fun as a $20 bucks game (seriously don't pay so much for this one)

Consider me interested. Consider my husband very interested, LOL! I probably won't pick this up right away (depending on the price) but as long as the game isn't totally broken control-wise I'll pick it up when it's cheaper. Come on, it has a bikini babe and zombies!!!

earth defence force was one of my best purchices ever.

i was suffering from depression when it came out, i was in gamestation, i was pritty poor and it was the only brand new game i could aford. its definatly a budget title, its rrp was £25 or something like that. its not much of a good game, the graphics arnt to great, the controls are loose, its achievements are pants.... but bugger me it can cheer you up when your down!

its the crazy simplicity of it all, ants and robots invadeing the eart... heres a gun, GO!

ever since ive been wanting more buget tiles on my 360 like it.

To be honest, the Wii needed this game very badly, all the way up until
last night. Now, the Wii doesn't need this crap. We don't need any games to appeal to the 'core' audience anymore. Now that we have Captain Rainbow, everything is good. And let's not even mention Wario Shake. Sorry, Onechanbara, you're approximately nineteen hours too late.

there is something to be said for stupid id driven beat 'em up games.
Take for example, "God Hand" it may have been many many things, but a "good game" wasn't really one of them...all the same it's a blast to play and I imagine this would be similar.

While we're on the subject of niche market silly zambie games I have to ask.
When is Capcom going to get with the program and release Resident Evil: Guitar Wolf.

If you've never played EDF, you're seriously missing out. A simple game that's surprisingly addictive and fun. Co-op play, too.

If Onechanbara is anything like EDF, it would be the type of shovelware the Wii could use. At $20, cheap and frivolous thrills on any system would be a steal.

yeah, day 1 purchase for me too, I don't care the price is, I'm just glad this is coming out in the US because I didn't want to import a wii just to play one game. I have the first 3 games in the series on ps2/xbox360. Sure, they're not the best games out there, but they're still a lot of fun to play. Most of the music from the 2nd and 3rd games was pretty catchy too, I'd constantly find it looping through my head when I wasn't even playing the game.

hey, I have this game in jp, and you guys should really give this a chance when this comes out in the US.
the games is surprisingly fun to play considering it's "crappy" graphics because it's gameplay is really well done for the Wii :)

D3 also published Earth Defence Force 2017, which for all it's shortcomings is awesoem fun! In fact I just finished it for a second time last night.

I have one of these on PS2, but it stars... Futaba? Can't remember her first name. D3 reuses characters, lol.

It's kinda fun for a little while - your sword gets bloodier and drips more, and when it does, it gets sticky and sticks in the zombies unless you flick it clean from time to time.
