Brothers In Arms Delayed. Again.

We'd have thrown in some quip about this being the 1,174th time Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway has been delayed, but since that cut a little too close to the bone we let it slide. This one's not too bad, however: the "glass is half full" brigade can console themselves with the fact it's only for a month, with the game's original August release pushed back to September. To tide you over while you wait, the first details on the game's collector's edition have been revealed on GameStop, showing that for an extra $US 10 you'll get a US Airborne figure, a comic book and a map of the upper Rhine, should you ever be bicycling around the area with the missus and wondering about the position of German Panzer divisions.

That toy looks really weird, very anorexic.
And everyone in here makes no sense. So this game is just fine, preorder worthy to you people, but COD5 is complete trash, huh?
Well, here's a reality: Fourth COD game this gen. WWII 2x, WWIII, WWII again. FIRST BiA game this game, been in development forever, delay delay delay, and it's WWII.
Can Kotaku members at least be consistent?

I hope they're designing Hell's Highway to use tiny little controllers dozens of buttons, because by the time this game comes out humanity will have ceded the Earth to cockroaches.

Considering there are some good games coming out in August, I am fine with the delay. This game though isn't a must buy though until I see reviews. I already have a lot must have games so this one better be better than average for me to cough up more cash.

Man ive had this game preordered for years it seems like. Wasn't it originally supposed to come out before Spore? Oh well at least the collectors edition is hella sick.

I was excited for Hell's Highway a loooooong time ago. I lost track of when it was even coming out. I never really planned on pre-ordering it but if I did, those little extras would not cut it for me. A map I won't use, a figurine that's been lost in time, and what collector's edition doesn't come with a comic book these days?
Am I right?!

@Coquiton: I'm more concerned that I won't have time to play all the big games.
The delay really doesn't matter to me. I enjoyed the first game, but I skipped the second one because it's too similar (and has Starforce). The longer the wait on a game, the more excited I generally am.

I really like the look of everything. The box-art is simplistic in a good way, the DVD just looks amazing, the GI Joe-ish figure looks pretty highly-detailed, and I'm sure the comic is going to have pretty high production values.
Maybe the special edition is the reason for the delay? They like just thought this up 2 weeks ago, decided to go with it sometime yesterday, and pushed back release so they would have time to print all of this stuff. Maybe?

Oh my god...I'm getting hammered here, practically every game I want in 2008 is coming out in this August/September stretch.
Man, how am I gonna afford it all??
I hope my books don't cost much this year, maybe I can use the leftover loan money for *ahem* "digital media studies"...

This game looked finished at E3. Did they run out of paper to print the manuals? Writer's block on the End-User License Agreement? What happened to it? Gosh, I wish developers would explain why they delay games. Especially a one-month delay just before release.

Phew...the same delay from last week. I'm pretty damned certain Randy Pitchfork mentioned that BIA was going to be Sept on the last 1up podcast from E3.

I completely forgot about this game, I don't know if I'm gonna bother with it if its comming out the same month as half a dozen or so other games I'm getting in September alone!
