Maybe the new game is reboot? Not sure, but it is worth a shot guessing!

there's going to be someone doing some # crunching to find the next image, but my guess is that the face on the left is going to transform into the face of the main character, or his mood will shit from calm to happy or crazy or whatever.

On a side note: Doesn't the name reboot remind you of that really old school 3d television series? =/ Man I miss my childhood.

That's the reason. Whether he uses a plunger or not, plungers are generally associated with plumbers (at least I associate them with plumbers). Add that to 2D platformer and you have the Mario association.

It's kind of funny though. When you asked that I did have to stop and think for a minute ("Oh yeah, he doesn't use a plunger. Why did I think that?").

@todde7: No, they're totally unrelated. In Marathon, a giant Colony ship takes 300 years to reach Tau Ceti. If it was the same universe as Halo, as soon as the colony ship left, humanity invented FTL travel and whizzed right by them to make another colony faster. Which would be pretty gutting!

This image is linked from a a banner ad on the Bnet forums. The Superintendent also appears on the splash screen on the menu in Halo 3 (Press start, and where there's normally an image advertising whatever's going on in Halo, there's another picture of a sad Superintendent). Bungie already said they wouldn't be at E3, so this might just be a way of riding the hype it's generating.

Actually, the countdown timer places this 1 day and 17 hours from now. I think Microsoft is going to announce this the third day of E3 so they both start and end the show. It's a pretty devious plan honestly.

I don't think it will be Bungie joining with EA. The reason Bungie split with MS was because they wanted more freedom to do what games they wanted to do. EA would probably be worse than MS in that respect.

I think it may be another partnership with MS in some way on a new IP. I think it will be some sort of First Person MMO on the X360. I could be completly wrong though!! lol
