I can't wait for E3 this year. A lot should of new stuff should be there. It sounds like it'll be hell to cover though with big press conferences going on all day, each day, while at the same time you have to cover all the games on the show floor.

any one else miss old E3? you know "THE EVENT" the spectacle, the massive booths and the booth babes. the ground breaking news the demos the exclusivity the Swag the 3 days of video game madness and the after math. and the south hall. when pc games were part of the fray when Microsoft gave a damn, when Sony was still pissed at Nintendo, and kicked their ass for two gens, and when Nintendo was crap...(it still is)... the demos, the exclusives, the interviews, and the behind the screens. the good old E3 that well all loved, that really fired up the console wars, the and the announcements, the ground breaking, earth shattering, industry moving, announcements that could move a company from obscurity to the head of the industry? is it just me or does anyone else miss that old E3?

I remember back in the day, when company's would make huge announcements that no one really saw coming. Now everything is speculated, rumoured, and blogged to death. Not that it's a bad thing, but it is always nice to be surprised.

I'm interested in Microsoft because:

A.) It seems Monday is theirs.
B.) We don't really have any concrete evidence of what they'll be announcing. Motion controls? Lips? Avatars? Price Drop? The list goes on.

Sony is kind of meh. And I won't lie to you, unless we're going to hear about some new pokemans, I'll have a hard time mustering excitement for Nintendo's presser.

Aside from the big 3, I want some BioShock 2, God of War III, and KOTOR 3. I'd die (die!) if we got some KOTOR news.

Last year's E3 gave me high hopes for Sony and the PS3. A year later and NONE of it has come to pass for me. Yeah, MGS4 came out. Either you love that game or you don't really give a crap. I tried it... unfortunately, while I'm loving the graphics I have little motivation to actually PLAY it. Where's Wipeout HD? Home? Little Big Planet?

The one thing Sony could do for me now, and its essentially a dream in a dream, is to announce they are making the Psygnosis games library available for PS3 download.

For Microsoft I'm really hoping they bring back Alan Wake, but I think it'll be a no-show once again. Maybe Liepzig next month..

For Nintendo, I hope that we see Kid Icarus, but for some reason, I don't think they'll announce it. I do expect a new Zelda announcement though as they close out the presser. DS wise - Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. I think it would be cool if Nintendo announced a headset/hard drive for Wii.

For Sony, I have the highest expectations for their presser. I expect to see God of War III. I'm also hoping for a White Knight Story and LittleBigPlanet release date. And I know this will fall under Konami and Sqare Enix presser, but I hope to see details on DLC for MGS4/MGO, and Final Fantasy XIII and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep.
And possibly a release date for HOME.

Also I'm hoping to see other titles like inFAMOUS, Banjo, and Mad World.

i always get super excitd about Nintendo's conference, because they don't let out ANY secrets before E3. Us Nintendo fans know nothing about their holiday lineup. Microsoft has pretty much blown their load, and I haven't really seen that much exciting news from Sony...aside from little big planet and killzone2.

To be honest, I'm not sure I care much about any of these. The idea of disseminating game news through a huge, inefficient show that normal people can't actually attend-- a concept that highlights the fact that game journalists are effectively employees of the industry they cover (seriously, watch the episode of Bonus Round where the PR flack from Brash, who used to work for Ubisoft, waxes nostalgic with Hsu about getting together to create great content). It doesn't matter whether you refuse to accept favors from the publishers and developers-- that's like a guy in jail for burglary telling me he doesn't jaywalk. Might be true, sure, but does nothing to dismiss the larger problem. The system is dead, long live the system, I guess.

I love me some Kotaku, though-- just for the writers and their thoughts, not for this (increasingly tired) practice of being used by the industry.

I'm most interested in Nintendo and, to a lesser extent, Capcom.

Sony is almost guaranteed to do like MS did last year and basically show off the rest of '08, since they have such a realtively strong lineup for the year.

MS, if the rumors are true, is going to be hilarious to watch since there's no way it'll NOT come off as desperate. I do imagine we'll see SOMETHING not laugh-worthy from them, though.


But we have no clue what Nintendo will do.
I do think, however, that Nintendo doesn't rent out the Kodak Theater unless they have something BIG planned.
I'm guessing we'll see Wii Music, Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, a storage solution, a big focus from Nintendo themselves on Wii Ware (DKC4, maybe), and possibly a new IP for the hardcore, since that rumor seems to be floating around a lot.
They need to do something to show their commitment again to the DS, too. 2008 and most of 2007 has been rather lacking on their part.

And Capcom, I just REALLY want to know what the mystery games are. I like most of Capcom's games, so hopefully it'll be good.

But to be honest, the only thing I REALLY want to see is whatever Shinji Mikami is doing for Platinum. If I see that, no matter how much E3 sucks otherwise, I'll be totally happy!

I would be more curious on what (if any) Nintendo would have to say, but given their direction with the Wii/DS, I know I shouldn't keep my hopes up. I am certainly not looking forward to Legend of Zelda: Groove it!.

Meanwhile I am hoping Sony has a God of War III or Team Ico teaser. From third parties I am interested in learning more about Bioshock II, Fallout 3, Prince of Persia, Beyond Good & Evil 2, Mirror's Edge and Sonic Unleashed.

Other games in my radar are Castlevania Judgement (yeah, WTF), Too Human, Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill Homecoming, and Fatal Frame IV.

Finally I hope there is an announcement about Ninja Gaiden II on PS3 and a launch date for Home (I won't be surprised if Home gets canceled altogether).

Hahaha, I'm really annoyed right now. I'm going away for those exact three days... Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Before, I thought I was going to be able to see live Wednesday coverage. Nope. Monday-Wednesday I will be at Cape Cod with my nana, who has no internet access and one TV she watches all the time, really loud. This is perfect. Nintendo will show off some gadgets to make money off of again. I am hoping for new IP announcements - not "now game x is coming to console y or game x is exclusively on console z"

And for the record, voting for Sony doesn't mean you're a Sony fanboy. I don't own a Sony console and I don't plan on having one in the next year and I have Microsoft's and Nintendo's, but the game that I'm most excited about is for E3 is Little Big Planet. It has nothing to do with the console manufacturer, the game looks great gameplay-wise, and could be made on any of the three home consoles, so then again, nothing to do with the manufacturer.

In fact, my interest in games have a lot less to do with manufacturers and publishers and a lot more with gameplay and developer. The only reason a manufacturer enters in the equation is when I'm considering to buy, since the console I own dictates which version I'll get.

We know what's coming this year (Socom, R2, MS2 and LBP), we have an idea what's coming next year (GoW3, GT5, KZ2 and maybe FF13). I wouldn't mind peeking into 2010. Last year was considered the driest year of the PS3 yet it still had some first-party games (HS, Uncharted, R&C, Lair and Warhawk). If there were no games comig this year or next, then I would have a problem.

Would like to hear from Sony, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Capcom, and Take Two. But that's about it. Only thing M$ will mention is probably the fact that you'll see fewer and fewer PC games which will go to their console Box. Nintendo will just boost their already known characters some more. Where as a majority of people are looking at Sony for a lot of answers, from delays of Home, LittleBigPlanet, as well as future PS3 updates that are needed. People are starting to get pissed at Sony for this delay shit and I think that's one reason why more people are looking forward to news from them.

I'm already giving Sony too much of my money this year. What does MS have in store for me (besides Gears and Fable 2 I mean)?

A lot of what Sony announced at last year's E3 still isn't available yet.

I think that maybe Microsoft had the right idea only talking about products that would be available in 2007 last year. Less hype, more substance.

Nintendo for me! I havent been paying much attention to anything else at E3 for a few years back now, don't think this year will be any different. Its up to Sonby and MS to surprise me MORE then Nitendo and thats... reallly hard!

All I really want to see is InFamous, and maybe a little info on some PS3 RPGs. That's all I need.

I can't wait to hear what the big three have to announce, but Sony's is on top - maybe they'll announce a PS3 slim version? a price cut? that new motion sensing controller that breaks to parts?
God of War 3? next game by Team ICO?
