E3 Roundup Day 3
And we're done! The third day of E3, in the books. Today was a little quieter compared to the first two days, mostly because the "big three" had already shown their hands. That's not to say nothing happened, however. Plenty happened. And you can find the highlights below.

I think that Tycho and Gabe have the right idea of how E3 is right now.

@Solash: I can men, I can. Really, The only one I can see at fault here is XBOX. I mean, in the era of the Nintendo-Atari-Sega, you just bought the console you liked more, and nintendo on one side, sega at the other side, and atari around there.
Then come the Sega-Sony-N64 era, Sony got a lot of hardcore games, Nintendo focused mostly on kiddy game but still brought some revolutionare games that keep his sales pretty high like GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Smash Brother and keep the hardcore nintendo gamers comming back for more. While it lost some of his most power ip's like final fantasy, metal gear and in some way Mega Man ('ll never consider MegaMan 64 part of the Saga, xD) it didn't keep from Nintendo 64 tying that battle with PSX
And then, the GC-PS2-XBOX-DreamCast saga came. Sega dropout from the battle, and the XBOX brought the fanboys, wich then stated that each console needed it's own audience, that the gamers can't be shared between console.
Man, the days before the XBOX where the greatest of the console games. One could have a Nintendo 64 and PSX and people would say "Wow, neat, you got bouth!!!! Lets play Mario Kart 64 and then switch to Resident Evil 3!!!!!"
The actual date is "So you have a 360 and a Wii" - "Yeah, 360 has awesome games with graphics never seen before and the Live feature, that rules. And the Wii has great multiplayer games which I enjoy with my friend and wife" - "And what about the PS3? Don't you like it?" - "That bloody pile of money???? 360 can do the same!!!"
Really, M$ just fu**** up the whole gamers world. Like if we hadn't had neough with Windows already

I'm still waiting for the Bungie and Sony partnership announcement.

Most exciting thing for E3 for me was the MotionPlus add-on for Wii. Also interesting were games that simultaniously used the Fit board and Wiimote/nunchuck. Can't wait to see what software comes out later down the road. Some duel MotionPlus action could have potential, hope someone does that ("Punch-Out!!"????)
MS had the big bomb w/ FF13 but I don't care for turn based RPGs/JRPGs and don't have the free time to play such long games. Even still the bomb was a bit of a dud because FF13 isn't coming to Japan on 360. :\
Lot's of great software on the horizon for all active platforms. This gen is turning out to be a golden era for gaming.
SAKY
@Scott3D: um it started Monday man.

Pulling Bungie = Fail.

The best part of the whole E3 -- the Duke Nukem trailer -- isn't even in your list!

Other than the FFXIII going multi-platform there was nothing much exciting. Nothing new from Bungie. We already knew about GOW3 ... well the teaser was exciting anyway.
Nothing about Heavy Rain, L.A. Noire, Edge of Twilight, Elveon, Alan Wake and so many other titles.

3rd day in the bad? E3 started on Tuesday. The 3rd day hasnt even started yet.
Scott3D
CNN had some e3 articles, one of them was about retro gaming... twice in that article ([www.cnn.com]) they refer to a "Kaliko Vision"... seriously now what the fuck is wrong with the general media?
mariospants
I like how they held back Bungie's announcement, cancelling it at the last minute so that they had more time to announce things we've either already seen or aren't exciting. Wait, no I don't! :O
Aye Mak Sicur
Boy.. E3 is getting worse each year.. :/
CockroachMan
What a waste of time.

@Solash: You mean when PS1 and N64 were both awesome, cheap, and the Saturn unremarkable? Yes, those were the days. Everyone loved games and everyone I knew loved both consoles (nobody even knew about the Saturn back then).
Candlejack
At least we got videos of Castlecalibur. And it looked fun :D

Other than MS dropping FFXIII on folks, this E3's been rather hoo-hum for me. A few things did show up that looked cool, but nothing that really rated being at E3. Most of it could have made it into ye' standard press release and it would have been just as effective.
That, and no Bungie info after being teased about 'a big announcement' for the last week. Grrr.
Salen
Honestly, I'm expecting Games Convention to top E3. And TGS will rock both, that's for sure. Nintendo and Sony are Japanese after all and have not shown anything that is more unique and Japan-specific. Folklore, Pikmin jump to mind.
@GPman: BUT FF13 IS MULTI!!!!!!!!
Candlejack
@Jedi924: Ahhhh, Remember the good old days when there was no seperation between gamers? That's when E3's were so exciting.
Solash
@Jedi924: I agree. What a completely disappointing E3...very boring, worthless.
@GPman: Yeah, I agree too, I don't see the point of E3 anymore.
ninja_warrior
Gotta say I was not thrilled with the e3 stuff at all. No big wows at all or anything exciting. Not really seeing the point of this e3 anymore. Might as well just release info on new games as they get it, that way smaller items get a chance to shine instead of getting pushed out by the standard "part 10 of favorite game series" announcements.
GPman
Well, this has been a disappointing E3. I hate all the focus on casual gamers lately.
