Seriously, though, I agree with Salen: Darkstalkers is a great series that needs to come back. I mean, a fighting game with mummies, zombies, and sexy vampires? How could you go wrong? If they made a new one with high-resolution sprites, that would be amazing.

I find it sort of sad that Kotaku doesn't have a 'Boobs' tag. But Morrigan was ok, but where's the Felicia statue? Oh well, I guess it's just a good thing that someone is actually making Darkstalkers merch. Why'd Capcom had to toss Darkstalkers into a bin hidden up in the attic of Street Fighter's mansion, anyways? Always though DS was better than SF.

I don't get the fascination with Morrigan. I'm an otaku - I like figures, and I've got enough to fill one of those Ikea glass cabinets (and then some more on top) but Morrigan never struck me as something that ever interested me - the character design's far too simple and (dare I risk being called a troll?) dull - even if you're into oversized boobs and hourglass figures, she's not as interesting as, say, Jun Tsukasa's works, or Mine Yoshizaki's.

@kylenalepa: My problem with Capcom is they'd do a little 'handout' of a Darkstalker character or two as part of one of their Capcom vs Generic X Brand, but they'd never do more than port over the original spritework and moves, and never do any tweeking on them. It was like Capcom was ashamed of the series.

How can you go wrong with a little girl in a red hood who carries bazookas and uzis? And catgirls? And werewolves? And vampires!

And folks wonder why I hate Street Fighter. Maybe if Capcom would show some love to Darkstalkers, I might like them more as a company.
