I've gotta' say though, King of Fun UK, I liked Warrior Within. Sure, most of the complaints about it are valid:
-get your Godsmack out of my Arabian fantasy adventure - PoP:SoT's music was awesome
-the Prince is suddenly the King of All Assholes
-without the Farah Love Interest thing, it's not quite as interesting as SoT
What most people seem to forget is Sands of Time's combat sucked balls, and if you actually go back and play it and listen to what the Prince had to say, he was an asshole in that game, too. He pretty much stays a selfish jerk 'till like, the very end of 1 and the very end of 3 where he does a 180 of personality and saves the day.
Also (feel free to hang me for saying this), WW's gameplay is actually... my favorite of the series. The platforming in it is sublime, I love the level designs, and I appreciate that there's a touch of free-roaming to it and it's not 100% linear (only like 90%). I even liked the story of WW. That's right, I said it!

I do appreciate that they're going for more intense, 1v1 battles for PoP '08 - it harkens back to the classic PoP. But really, I don't play PoP for the combat - just don't fuck up my platforming, Ubisoft, or there'll be hell to pay.

Sands of Time and The Two Thrones were fantastic games but the scars of Warrior Within never quite healed for me :(.

I'm digging the art style, but not really excited for every fight seeming like it's going to only be 1 on 1. Why? Even though combat wasn't the centerpiece for the first Prince of Persia on Ps2, it was still fun with all of the acrobatic maneuvers you could pull off...and all of the Prince's moves seemed to flow together pretty well.
