I read a lot of the story, and it's wonderful -- but it came across as very 'meh' in the game.

Hopefully Resistance 2 delivers on this trailer -- I'd like to think the first one was mediocre only because of the tight launch schedule.

@B33: The Chimera are indeed an alien force, and the creatures that you see affiliated with them such as the Hybrids from both R1 and R2 are not them. They have yet to be revealed.

Insomniac's two main points of interest for this title is "Hale" and "Scale". A story more focused on Nathan Hale and a more grand and epic sense to gameplay as well. The trailer contains some interesting points within it.

If the above quote refers to the Chimera, then it would confirm whether the Chimera virus was "created" by mankind or "discovered"...

As far as trailers go, that's a good trailer.

This game will get the attention of the killjoys who will go to town on this game even if it's great. Insomniac has a pretty good track record in my book, so I'm betting on this horse.

Completing the single player story of R:FoM has moved way up on my gaming to do list.

I have enjoyed played Resistance the past week or two, so I am looking forward to this game (especially if it turns out like the trailer). I can't say I'm looking forward to more spookiness though. I can't stand being spooked and that is one of the reasons why I got so nervous while playing the "tunnel" portion of Resistance. Darkness and monsters with only a small light to see with.... :(

I saw that trailer and i say FAKE. Everyone noticed how it was pieced together from old bits. Like the part where the chimaira bites the soldier, or the Invasion of the ships. Although i can't explain the other parts, or the voice, but it does look cool

I'm surprised so few realized the Chimera are of Extraterrestrial origin. One of the main plot points in the game is that the Chimeran Towers aren't built, they're excavated. They've been underground, possibly since before mankind could even walk upright.

Furthermore, the website actually went on to mention that some miners discovered a Tower in the American Midwest while digging. Everything was hushed, and that's when the US's huge push on technology and warfare started, probably in preparation for what was coming.

@Tom Clancy's Samuraidino: Yeah, when R1 came out online co-op was not standard yet (did Gears have that?). But R1 is the proof that online could have been excellent on PS3 from day 1. It's sad that Sony does not twist developers' hands more. But that would imply more support... *sighs*

Resistance 2 on te other hand...well thats got an 8 player online co-op.Which shall be nothing short of awesome.

@ManjiKengo: It's a 15-hourt long game and yes it has co-op (good times). It's not worth much more than $30 right now but it's still a great game. And online is still active (with 40 players max you can't go wrong). Resistance's difference with Halo is that Nathan Hale is less powerful than MC, and he looks like he will be more of a problem later on than the Messiah like MC. Compared to GeoW, I'd say it's a matter of scales. Gears is about details, Resistance is about large-scale battles. You should really give it a try. The graphics hold up to this day.

Anyway, back on the topic - the trailer sucked in quality imho. Fortunately, DigiMish explained why. It was obvious they aren't using their latest build of the engine, nor gotten their lighting-specialist to lit-up the scenes (this improves the mood/character of scenes drastically).
