Also, on topic about the boss - I think it's amazing to see such an enemy but I have one problem with it. If the guns feel as pathetic when you shoot them as they did in Resistance 1, I wouldn't enjoy fighting a boss like that. I also hope that it's more than just "hold trigger button for 5 minutes" to kill it. As someone mentioned it already, let SotC influence this. Make it special, not just shooting.

me and my friend have gone through R1 in co-op on all difficulties, so i'm only just getting around to beating it on single player. It was a brilliant game and i can't wait for R2.

Also, it's head somewhat resembles the leviathan from R&C Future.

@zoesch: Go to the top of a building withing a fairly decent range. Snipe it's eyes out. It'll fall over from the shock and you'll have to climb on it's back and set up a large drill on it's weakest point (lower back?). From there you'll crawl inside and attack it's organs like a virus on a mission.

I don't get the brumak comparisons. This thing has different eye patterns, and looks more erect and far more scaly/boney than a brumak.

I mean, a brumais is grey skin with shains, and guns tied to it.

This thing looks more like a giant Bug, with heavy exoskeleton and no visable weapons beyond that.

It's also a crapton larger.

It looks nothing like the Brumak, and looks more bad ass. Brumak as a bazooka on its back, the leviathan does not. Leviathan is 300 feet, smashing buildings with its limbs, brumak, weapon mongering 150 foot tall beast. Not alike, all of you fanboys wish it was, so you could put down R2 as a mere rip off. This monster is bad ass, the boss fight is gonna be bad ass, and the weapons that i will use to gauge its eyes out single handedly is gonna be bad ass

Cloverfield, Brumaks, and perhaps a giant Sloar - the sort that many Shubs and Zuuls might remember being roasted in the depths of. But that's neither here nor there. The point is, there comes a time when there are so many large critters in fiction that they all sort of look alike. If anything, this "Leviathan" fellow has a lot in common with his smaller brethren. The four eyes, the shape of the head, etc. Can't we all just enjoy slaughtering massive uber-beasts in all their forms together?

As for Cliffster vs. CliffyB, I don't know. I still hold out the thought that 'ster is a podperson, a clone, a terminator replacement, or under the influence of a Sectoid commander's mind powers.

Like someone mentioned they were running pretty parallel in production,so I don't think anybody copied anyone.The concept for Resistance was being thought off before the PS3 was even announced.Production began in Late 05.
Not sure when Epic started on Gears.

We will have to see how this monster holds up.

The Brumak in Gears 1 couldnt fought on the 360 and was scripted on the PC.

The brumaks shown in gears 2 are scripted as well.

Lets see if the Leviathan in Resistance 2 is dynamically controlled like almost everything in the first game.

@KannonMAK: I agree, it seems like I know everything about every game I get before it comes out... that's disappointing, although I will say there were a good number of action pieces and an area I had no clue existed before MGS4 came out, but it pisses me off that Kojima Productions saw fit to open up and spill out all the information they'd held as such a good secret for a full 4 years in the last month before the game came out, fuckin' jerks. It really is kind of disappointing that the surprise segment of gaming has been eliminated.

Gears is very intense for being 4 on 4. You may seem like its not enough but its great, when your the last one alive your heart rate speeds up, palms start to sweat. When your the last one alive and its 4 on 1 and you can defeat them all there is a certain joy you feel. Unlike the other FPS games that are very generic and feel the same like the other 20 clones.
