DoA focuses on bouncing boobs and jiggly buts. To my knowledge, SC hasn't focused on making the boobs bounce like in DoA. They are normal physics, plus, not all the women in SC will be half naked.

in soul calibur 3 i tried making a female character and couldn't find any good clothes so after a while of experimenting she ended up in a pink bra and pink panties. it was a bit hard trying to reasonably explain to friends' mothers why there was a near-naked woman fighting. anyways lets hope they have nice clothes in this game, but if not, i don't mind a fighter in lingerie...

@Servant_of_Jashin: The breasts are not ridiculously huge to the point where it's unrealistic, they are more than possible to exist even naturally, like I said to that other guy (that comment could relate to you too).

Even then, why should the female character breasts "meet certain contrains" when they are well within possibility while the game has characters covered in ridiculously large armour that looks like it weighs a ton, weapons as large as the character that would weigh another ton, half lizard people, a 2ft green alien, and a complete freak demon thingy.

Soul Calibur has no intention of being realistic, I have no idea where you get that idea from... even if it supposedly prides itself on "realism", just look at the gameplay for 5 seconds or play it, heck you even agreed that they defy physics in the game (and a very petty excuse to justify it imo, which is shooting yourself in the foot really, so I think realism is pretty much out of question.

Yet every male in the game seems to... The fact that Soul Calibur has some ridiculous size weapons at times, people being hit 20 foot in the air and getting back up, people getting cut a ridiculous number of times without showing a scratch, characters defying gravity with the moves they pull off, a weapon wielding half lizard-half man, a small green mutant like creature that wields a laser sword means it would have the right to be unrealistic in any area of it's wishes. Why after knowing all this would you have to suspend belief over pair of breasts that are actually possible, whether it be through surgery, or natural (first name I can think of is Lucy Pinder, so yes it's possible), when all of these impossible things exist in the game?

@Radz: There's a difference between suspending realism and demolishing it.

In ANY entertainment situation (be it video game, TV, movie, comic, etc) the audience accepts that it will have to suspend belief to a certain extent to accept the rules of the universe.

When it come to the character models, I shouldn't have to suspend belief and assume that there's something magical about the Soul Calibur universe that allows their women to have grossly oversized breasts.

Ninjahacker.net had the best clothing mods that I have ever seen. Someone took a few of the bikinis from DOAXBV and painstakingly turned them into lingerie. The attention to detail is amazing; they literally look like they were taken from a Victoria's Secret catalog.

Most nude figures in video games look plasticine, but then I saw a Nude Aerobics video, and the actual women in the video looked plasticine as well. I like to create beautiful women and play as their character, but I prefer more realism in body shapes then some of these characters and their inflatable-looking breasts. My Sheppard in Mass Effect was a blond female stunner, but she was also very business-like and professional (I put her hair up in a bun).

I will try Soul Caliber and see if I can create a realistic woman fighter. To me, it is more fun playing as a woman, which is one reason that I loved the DOA series. There is nothing wrong with playing as a woman, particularly since she likely has different skill sets than a man, and sometimes beating a male character with a woman can be quite a challenge (relying on wits, quickness, and special moves rather than just brute strength). As Gallagher said so eloquently "I might have a woman's spirit trapped inside my body but I don't know it because she is a Lesbian!"

i am acctually one of the people that were fortunate enough to get the game before the release date.
the character customizing is cool and all .. but only modifying looks is a let down ...

soul calibur 3 had so much more to offer ... as it had 3 unique fighting styles just for character customizing.

i mean, even the 5 secret female characters have the exact same moves as some other characters:

what makes me more sad is that the game isnt even out yet n its already getting updates :S (just got one today)... which again makes me feel that this game was a lil too rushed

theres no exhibition theatre like the other games .. and that was one of the best things to unlock.

but one thing i noticed though, i unlocked all the characters (all 33) and theres still one empty slot way at the top ... so chances are there acctually might be a downloadable vader after all because u can even move your curser onto it.. or another 34th character we have yet to find out about..

but if they're gonna make me pay for vader online im seriously gonna get pissed off ... he shouldnt cost anything.. but then again .. companies love money. i bet vader is even programmed into the game. they just locked him up so u can pay for him those bastards!

oh yeah ! ome more thing i should mention.
the character customising is frustrating in a sense that if u want to go up the tower of lost souls and modify your character to be strong enough to face the chalanges up ahead. youcant really make your character look like anything u want. u end up customizing him/her to look like a total idiotic 1/4 bird 1/4 clown 1/4 pirate 1/4 hillbilly wife beater just to get his stats up for the next mission. its frustrating

As a matter of fact, i didn't liked it when they changed the game into Soul Calibur. It transformed into a "mash the buttons" kind of game. It also lacked the weapons energy bar, didn't have that many ways to modify a combo and the special moves were no longer truly special like the crazy super combos you could do in Soul Blade.

That game is surely the beat'em up that i played the most, ever. The Calibur series hasn't won me over yet.

Yes it's fun to see characters fighting around half-naked but, after a while it gets boring. Getting to create original characters (silly, awesome, or whatever) on SC3 made it way more fun. I hope this is a beefed-up version on it.

Getting to customize Nightmare, Astaroth, and Lizardman is great already. I always hated how I couldn't make a large/small/beast fighter on SC3. All you had was this default template.

I was confused at first; I thought these were custom characters made to resemble the main cast. But apparently, you can have a score of custom costumes for each of the main characters, which is just awesome. As long as they made some attempt to recover Talim's moveset from II, this means she may be a viable character again! Srsly, what is up with the get-ups they keep putting her in...

On the actual topic of this post: It's fun to see Lizardman and Nightmare have such well thought-out "Nude" models. Often times, having a unique build was enough to keep you out of a games character creation mode.

Seeing customized main characters is going to be just as fun as seeing people's unique, original creations!
