Why the hell are they remaking a Wii game released about 7 months ago (in Japan) for the DS? And for that matter, why are they making this alongside yet another Chocobo game for DS right now? Can't they combine the resources and/or development teams of both projects to make one, even better Chocobo game for the DS?

Well, I guess at the very least Square-Enix'll have something cheaper to localize and release over here if they don't bother giving us the original game. Seriously, the Wii version still lacks a European release date.

@MeleeKirby: There's a PSX Final Fantasy Tactics game too, but it doesn't mean FFTA is a remake of it. I do find the DS version odd, especially considering they announced it so close to the North American release of the Wii version.

Chocobo Tales was the reason I got my DS Lite and the new Chocobo Mystery Dungeon will finally have me dust off my Wii.

These games will finally get my DS some refreshed love. God bless Squenix for their support of the handheld market.

@ittekimasu:Boko/Chibi Chocobo/Chocobo is more of a man then Cloud and the leading male characters in 8, 10 and 12. And unlike them, you never have to deal with angst from Boko.

@MeleeKirby:Because they like money and the DS install base is simply too large to ignore. And no, the Wii version is the third in the Chocobo Dungeon titles. The one released on PSX in the USA was #2. The Chocobo Dungeon games have their own world and storyline as well as characters, though the focus is more on Chocobo and his family then on the human characters (Shinoma, Cid, Chroma, Irma, etc.)

Chocobo's Dungeon on Wii is set right after Chocobo Tales on DS, with all the various characters you met in that and the other Chocobo games. Brand new, not a remake.

@B1S1:Dude, Chocobo's been staring in his own titles from the release of the Pocketstation on. This isn't a new development. He's a SE trademark character.

This news makes me very, very happy, because it means that Chocobo Tales did very well as did Chocobo's Dungeon for Wii. I feared that those two titles would be the last time we'd see Boko this gen.

Chocobo Tales and Rocket Slime were seriously the last enjoyable games I've played from Square Enix save the Valkyrie Profile remake for PSP; at least they still have some ability to take my money from me with these coming out.

The Chocobo's Dungeon game for Wii is not a remake of either of the TWO games for psone.

And also the DS game is NOT a remake fo the Wii game.

If you look at SquareEnix's Japanese site, its actually called "Cid and Chocobo's Dungeon: Labyrinth of Forgotten Time DS + " It takes place in the same world and everything but it says it has a different story that focuses on Cid, but you play as chocobo still and he has 5 new jobs.
