@Bluecell: go to a local theatre around the time it comes out. Youd be suprised how willing they are to give you what they have. Atleast when i used to work at one they didnt have a problem giving out the posters they took down/had to many of. Just ask them if you can go through there extra posters. Worse they can say is no :P

On the angels and demons thing. I think it might be more suitable to veer off the game a little since fans of Max Payne, will already know the ending. Mixing it up like this might not be for the best, but it's something different then what we can expect. Plus this gives way for saying all of what the cultists bringing Ragnarok and whatnot is true in this story.

See, now that second poster I would buy for my wall. But they so rarely let people buy that kind of stuff... The posters for sale are usually the ones with credits at the bottom and slogans plastered all over the art. I like nice clean graphics like the second one above.

I have hope for the movie, and my expectations are pretty high at the moment. From the look of the trailer, they really nailed the atmosphere. It can't possibly be worse than Hitman, right? Right?

The problem with the first poster (and a part of the trailer as well) is the inclusion of that angel/demon. People not familiar with the game would assume heavy sci-fi elements.

@Bluecell: Try allposters.com. They're kinda expensive (6.99 a pop, though admittedly its a huge poster), but I just bought a Dark Knight poster without any of the mumbo jumbo on it. Might have to wait until the movie's out for them to stock it though.

I still don't really get what the hell those angel/demon/monkey things are. I didn't get much into Max Payne (ironically and randomly enough, my doctor is Laura Payne) but... last I knew, there were none of those going on, and they're in the trailer quite a bit.

The second poster is great though, I might have to snag one.

I'm still trying to see the purpose this movie is serving. While there were some stylish visuals in the trailer, you can say the same about Hitman and the Tomb Raider movies. But, as has been mentioned before, they are possibly veering off too far away from the realistic tone of the game's story. That would be bad.

Max also has two dream sequences that are played through by the player, that might be something to do with it.

I wanted to have high hopes for this movie but it's already been ruined for me without me seeing it. The PG-13 rating, the casting of Mila Kunis (!) as Mona Sax, and the casting of rapper Ludacris and Nelly Furtado just blew it for me. Mainly Mila Kunis as Mona Sax though, that just does not work.

First one is cool but a bit too blurry and lacking detail never mind that it sends the mix message of looking like a horror and...well I don't know it just doesn't suit the movie really. Second is such a damn good teaser poster not only because it evokes the game so well but is totally original. It also looks totally bad ass.

The second poster is much better, as it actually pays tribute to the game. That said, I'm a fucking HUGE Max Payne fan. Beat both games over 15+ times each, vanilla ... no mods. Then I beat the crap out of them even more with mods. I can't fucking believe the stupid supernatural bullshit they're pulling into this movie. WTF is this God and Devil shit? Religion was NEVER in the series to begin with ... not even a damn hint of it. I'm willing to bet that the black angels we're seeing in the trailer and pictures are not just his dreams, which if that turns out to be the case ... I will be rather pissed off. This is so dumb on the marketing guys' side.

The movie is very close to the first game, yet in the trailers and imagery they emphasize what appears (but only appears) to be different, alienating their audience.

Valkyries are a cool visual and who knows how the general public receives the trailer, but as far as gamers go, they are shooting themselves in the foot.
