Bash, why didn't you mention who's localising and publishing it in Russia? I'm reading this from my phone, can't check any links.
It's kinda important to know, since good localisations are still rather rare in Russia. Sometimes it's better to just stick with the original.

@sweetie55:
AoC is kind of opposite WAR in terms of launch philosophy..
WAR will be launching with ALL promised systems in place, including the Public Quests, RvR, siege battles on keeps with siege weapons, living guilds, renown ranks, capitol city levelling, etc. etc. etc.
AoC is going down in history as being an MMO with incredible potential that shipped half finished.

@Gitaroo_Dude:
Well for a start success in the normal gaming market does not equate to success in MMO's. Just look at Sqaure, FFXI practically bankrupted them when it came out. On the other side of the coin there's NCsoft, a company that hadn't done anything before it's MMO's and yet is quietly turning a profit.
As for the topic in hand, this is a move WoW should be doing, and should have done a while ago. While I have no qualms with russian people they have a habit of invading certain English speaking realms and taking over. Warsong and Zenedar are noteable Russian servers (albeit unofficially) and anyone from those realms is just impossible to work with as your average russian doesn't speak a word of English. It's fine with the rest of Europe as the large majority of them are bilingual.

I'm in the WAR beta...bright primary colors.

Errgh...should I stick it out with AoC or try WAR...choices. >_<

People putting BioWare's still to be seen MMO over Mythic's history as an MMO developer sounds like WAR hating to me. I'm not a huge fan of MMO's but I know I'm excited for WAR just for the fact its Warhammer.

@blackmanfu: I see. So I haven't missed much at all.
Thanks for the link.

I've never understood those "In Soviet Russia, Road forks you!" kinda jokes. I'm sure I've missed out on a whole bag of laughs, could somebody explain the joke to me?

@Jellyjamjuju: The could have shipped the game out This month and had all the time for polish, but instead Mythic decide to do some last minute revamps. Adding in multiple paths for careers as well as an expansive sieging system which was not present before. The polish was still needed a bit, but these systems put in place will make the game much better and worth waiting a few extra months for.

@Gitaroo_Dude:
I'm sorry but Mythic has a way bigger standing in the MMO community than BioWare does. I'm not saying BioWare's MMO will be crap but having 750,000+ beta applicants is more than something to dismiss as petty. Plus, with EA backing them with cash (which is why they decided to take extra months to polish off the game as much as they could) I don't see how WAR CAN'T be well polished at launch and really implement their ideas to the genre well.

@taftsearlobe33: As someone who played daoc from 5 years, starting 2 weeks after launch, I can say it did have a smooth launch. Another thing however, is that they didn't have higher level dungeons itemized and there was a decent bit of content missing when they shoved it out the door. Things have changed a lot over the last 6-7 years with mythic, and warhammer is shaping up to be a very awesome game that will deliver on all of it's promises. Unlike that steaming pile of crap aoc.

@Gitaroo_Dude:
List the Bioware MMOs, by launch date.
Good, that didn't take long.
Now list the Mythic MMOs by launch date.
... you get my point. In the MMO space, Mythic is not taken lightly. And more so now that EA is backing them.
Lazz
@Gitaroo_Dude: way to know nothing about MMOs. Mythic is a vetern company with EA funding and resources behind them. Also DaoC had the smoothest launch of any MMO to date.

So, this is the next speed bump in front of WoW until Bioware comes out I guess.
Developers need to realize that unless you have a developer of the highest caliber (Blizzard, Bioware, Nintendo, whatever) working on a title like this, it's not gonna pull in the cash WoW does. And Mythic doesn't fit that bill (lol DAoC).
People want polish and fun from day 1, not a bunch of new half-assed ideas.
Gitaroo_Dude
@Azures: I'm in the beta and the game is great, much better than AoC and a very good challenge for WoW. Mythic's ideas and pvp backed by EA's cash is good stuff.
Azures
How do you say "Learn to RvR noob" in Russian?
Azures
At first I thought that said banhammer.
Anyway, yay Russia!
Ahsayuni
It's good that everyone gets a chance to experience this game. It looks pretty decent.
AngelMayLaugh
got to give it to EA Mythic they are giving non US gamers what they want. As long as this game has a good release and is polished it looks like it will be a big hit.

Oh goody, maybe this will stop the Russian invasion on Team Fortress 2. I swear on my... hamster's grave that one Russian kid hacked me to bits with a crit saw from a mile away.
