It goes up. While it's great seeing some extended in-game footage of the title, the rubbish animation and reliance on so much footage from the film has me a little concerned. Not overly concerned, just...cautiously concerned.
I didn't like the trailer at first, but it does have a very "80s" feel to it, like an old video game commercial. Kind of a subtle tie in to the whole era.
I really hope this game doesn't suck.

I have to agree with El-Suave. As long as Sierra/TR don't drop the ball too badly, this game will sell boatloads of copies. And as a gamer, I could see where we could worry about the large amount of footage from the movie, but looking at it without my pro-Ghostbusters glasses on, I think the large amount of footage (especially the cast rundown) is more of an effort to a) let people know that the original actors are in the game b) see the game as the third movie.

Who can possibly still be excited for this game after that! A trailer with prerendered CG in equivalent amount to the live action clips would be being SHREDDED in the comments by now. All the in game footage they showed looked HORRIBLE. The developers weren't even originally making a Ghostbusters game, if I remember correctly. Add to all of this the fact that there has still never been a good game based on a movie (with the exception of the Super Star Wars trilogy), and where are your expectations coming from?

It honestly reminds me of katamari damacy in the way that it's a guilty pleasure. It just looks like a game that isn't taking itself seriously and wants to entertain the gamer. Throw in some old school nostalgia into that recipe and you have a game that appeals to both new school and old school gamers alike. I cant wait to buy this game when it hits.
There's supposed to be a new story. Something to do with New York being sent to hell or something like that. Maybe the movie tie-in levels are the first areas and it progresses to the new material eventually.

Of course nostalgia has a part in a game like this no matter what, and the constant panderiung to that nostalgia is getting a little tiresome I admit but the whole concept of Ghostbusters in itself I think has always had the potential to make a really fun game, especially with the new technology available.

Wow, I'm not picky about graphics at all and I usually scoff at jumping the gun about visuals but some of those running animations are pretty floaty. If you like hearing the Ghostbusters theme throughout a whole game, I'm sure you'll love the Ghostbusters game for NES.

Oh, and I'd like to issue a personal thank you to Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murrary, and Ernie Hudson for 24 years of beautiful childhood memories. Annie Potts too if she's still doing it. I'm a nice guy, but anyone who refused to make buckets of money simply by reading some lines and inevitably making fans happy worldwide can suck it.
Oh noes. The greatest trailer for a video game in years! We better find some way to tear it down.
I love this awesome retro trailer. I loved it subtly poking fun at Bill Murray's inclusion using his own lines "againt"HIM.
Most of all I like the the way, as some have phrased it... "appeals to children". A new generation is the only way a real movie would ever get made again, and the trailer exudes this desire for it. Ever since I found out Murray held things up because the other two wanted to write themselves out as much as possible, I've keptmy hopes higher.
Even if you end up hating this game, fuck the one who gives the people behind it crap. Aside from the actual company loving the IP, this was handmade for YOU THE FAN by Aykroyd and Ramis. This is a gift that allows us to relive our childhoods so, ironically, grow up.
@dangerman_: yes, that is what i was thinking: PS3 version, put the movie on the same disk as the game hidef with special features.

Im gonna start out by saying that at one point i was so into this franchise that i was a ghostbuster. This has to be the worst trailer ive seen to describe something since the pick of destiny movie trailer. They need to show off the character models for the four of them instead of clips from the 80`s.They need to show that yes all four guys are back by actually showing some dialog from the game in the trailer. This needs to be shown in theaters too because most of the world doesnt know that the ghostbusters are teaming up again where this would be news you would see on et access hollywood the E! channel ect.The game comes out in three months and i havent seen a clear shot of bill murray`s in game face yet,are you serious terminal reality?

Yeah, they were definitely playing off the original GB movie trailer. I liked the movie footage because some of the shots were contrasted with in-game footage, and the game looks damn good. Not to mention they probably don't have usable sound bytes of all the actors quite yet, but wanted to emphasize that they will be featured in the game. I was pretty excited before, but now I actually really want to play the game. Unless the controls are just awful, I don't think this game could possibly fail.
I have high hopes for this game. Being a child in the 80's the Ghostbusters movies were some of my favorites growing up. It would be great to re-live some of that through the game. The trailer wasn't bad at all. I kinda liked it.
It would have been cool if, instead of playing the clips straight from the movie, they had done them up in the game engine to match, and overlaid the movie's audio.

@Kenofthedead: I want a co-op mode where one person plays as Slimer. That would be ridiculously awesome.
More importantly, it's a trailer. For a game that's a sequel to a movie, no less. The use of the stuff makes sense. If the movie clips play all over the damn game, then I'd be kind of concerned lol.
It looks like the cutscenes are filmed possibly. But I never saw the movies (still trying to find them at a rental store) so they could just be taken from the movies..........

@Bobby McPresscott: You can thank Annie Potts and William Atherton (Walter Peck). They've both signed on, as far as I know. Rick Moranis hasn't, but he hasn't done anything in ten years. I guess his version of the situation is that he wants to spend as much time with possible with his kids--single parent, wife died some time ago.
Of course, somebody at Sierra Entertainment said that he just doesn't want to work anymore, since the "Honey, I [Insert Verb or Verb Clause] the [Insert HILARIOUSLY Unusual Object of Verb Clause]" movies made him a virtual hojillionaire. Whichever, I guess.

Oh man, that looks amazing! I don't care if its not the best looking game ever, or even if the gameplay isn't exactly groundbreaking, as long as its fun, I'm in. And really, isn't that what video games are really about? You know...fun. If the story is good this thing has serious potential.

The game looks really great, but I thought it was a continuation of the story, not something we've all ready seen. Am I making a mistake in thinking this is a remake? That trailer has seriously confused me on this...

From the trailer in-game scenes it looks like every location is a direct port from the original movie locations. I was hoping for a new storyline. And why did they have to put the marshmellow man in there again? That was good in the first movie, but the joke has been driven waaay into the ground by now.

It had its flaws but I liked the Simpsons Game...
It certainly had more life than I've seen from the series in a while (yes I still watch it. Nyagh.)
Of course nostalgia has a part in a game like this no matter what, and the constant panderiung to that nostalgia is getting a little tiresome I admit but the whole concept of Ghostbusters in itself I think has always had the potential to make a really fun game, especially with the new technology available.

I don't care if the game is horrible, I will play it for pure nostalgia. It's what I did for the Simpsons Game! Well... most of it, until I watched the rest of the *show* on youtube.

Wow, I'm not picky about graphics at all and I usually scoff at jumping the gun about visuals but some of those running animations are pretty floaty. A Ghostbusters game always had great potential though and the Genesis one is at least proof that the name brand isn't universally destined for terrible games, so let's just hope they tweak it up from here.

If you like hearing the Ghostbusters theme throughout a whole game, I'm sure you'll love the Ghostbusters game for NES.
BTW, the animation does look kind of crummy. It reminds me of when after you die in Counter Strike and use the "ghost cam", you can see your teammates moving in third person, and the animation appears to be all stilted.

I've been very impressed with the in-game footage really. I can just imagine how it'll feel to boot up the game for the first time and fire a fully realized proton pack. It's been something I've wanted to do since as far back as I can remember. Yeah, the animation could use some work, but honestly, if it released today and was the quality shown in the trailers, I'd buy it instantly.

I think the animation is fine, honestly.
