@ray89: Yes, Kenzan will get English release. I'm actually tempted to import because I can understand the story part quite okay. Unfortunately, I'm suck at kanji and I doubt I can enjoy the game much if I can't read the majority of the kanji being used in the game.

Kenzan had nothing to do with the main storyline - just the characters in the ancient Japan.

Might just have to import it in the end though, cause I'm from Europe, so we get BEST deals...just like Super Smash Bros. Brawl...and my Japanese is rather nifty.

@Meuacan: Dry kanji, IIRC. After all, the game is originally intended for mature Japanese audience (it gets Cero-D classification) so I usually they don't bother with furigana.

Been playing the Kenzan import, and it has a vastly improved combat system, better mini map (finding quests is easy if you can't read Kanji), and of course ZEEBRA's BUSHIDO j-hip hop track...)

I just hope SEGA picks up the speed and gets Yakuza 2 here ASAP so I can get caught up on the storyline before 3.

Enigma, it is seriously worth it, we probably won't see Kenzan stateside until 2010 at the rate their going... I mean, I will honestly, be be surprised if we see the Yakuza 2 (PS2) this year.... They claim we will get it this year, but I'm skeptical.

djricekcn: True, and the narrative is a fictional take on the Miyamoto Musashi legend, but.... and I still maintain this... the setting, and some of the early activities the protagonist engages in (IMHO) is not unlike those of men during the time that would eventually become the forefathers of the Yakuza (not as we know them today of course)... Making it an interesting spin-off none-the-less.

I love the Ryu ga Gotoku series, insta-import for me.
This last week has been great! First I learn about Megaman 9, then I see a flyer for a PSP Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, then Chrono Trigger DS, now this!
I am a happy (but poor) man.

Awesome. Maybe they'll do the right thing a second time and bring it to the international market with Japanese dialogue and English sub titles. The Yakuza games especially shouldn't be dubbed over.
