Your E3 Lineup Roundup
Posted by Owen Good at 11:00 AM on July 14, 2008

The coming week will be completely dominated by E3 coverage. Come to think of it, the previous week was completely dominated by pre-E3 coverage. After the jump we've compiled a scene-setter of sorts, aggregating together all the lineups announced, so you know some of what to look for in the coming onslaught of copy.
Kotaku's crack staff on the scene will be Brian Crecente, Michael McWhertor, Brian Ashcraft, Mike Fahey, Leigh Alexander, and Adam Barenblat. They're going to be very busy.

@TheRiver: I couldn't agree more, perhaps no company is more out of touch with what gamers (especially American gamers) want.
Would it KILL you to make a sequel to Chrono Trigger? Obviously it would, you morons SEE how much news and hype you get over just rereleasing a 13 year old SNES game and don't see the opportunity?

Do I see a Dragon Quest game? Looks like my DS will be getting intensive, deep love when the game finally arrives here.

Excited to see the first party stuff from all three console makers, and also most of Capcom's stuff, and a few of EA's games. I'm sure there will be some surprises, there always are.

WTF I'm upset that none of the Star Ocean games are for the PS3 but instead for the 360.... Someone dropped the ball there.

That's gonna be tough to cover. Aren't you forgetting Activision? I know they're not technically a part of E3 but they have an event planned at the same time... right nearby... so for all intents and purposes, they're at E3... Or have they just decided not to release a list of what they'll have at the show?

What is Left 4 dead doing under EA? That's a valve game now (Turtle Rock studios, owned by Valve). What is this crap reporting?

@Herabec: What is with your crack attitude dude? It's a Sunday night, grab a beer and mellow the hell out.
The Orange Box was a Valve game too, but (gasp!) EA published it. Same idea with Rock Band. Really now, go to sleepy time.

Hard to follow up 2007 when it comes to games but I never thought that almost every game I care to see is being published under EA. Weren't they the sweat-shop that churned out a series of mediocre games? What happened? Oh yeah, they started devoting more resources to quality games and picked up some developers we can care about (I heart Valve, and that's not just a self-proclamation of being an important organ either).

Bioshock, RE4, Mega Man 9, Tecmo Bowl, and Chrono Trigger DS are my tops. And whatever surprises Nintendo pulls out...
Oh and Wario Land. Looks cool.
Oh and TNA Impact. I've been waiting years to play as Samoa Joe in a video game. At least a Samoa Joe that I didn't have to create myself. Years and YEARS. Hope it doesn't suck!

Y'know... I'm looking at this list.
There's good games on there, games I'm looking forward to even. But all I can really find myself saying is... "Yeah? And? If I care, I'll see 'em on Gamespot when their release gets closer."
E3 should not provoke that kind of reaction.
God, I miss the old E3. I could actually get psyched about that...

I'm actually somewhat interested in seeing what console MMORPGs show up if any. Don't think I'd ever have the time to play, but it's always interesting following it's progress, especially on a format that doesn't seem very welcoming of it.

You told me you were "going to some conference in LA." Now you're not even listed among the posters. This isn't oneathem boondoggle thingies, is it? While you're there, be sure to get me a gimme cap or two. The bushhog chewed up the They Ghosts one (along with Mama Jo, but that's another story).
