wow... so it pretty much is a complete copy of the nintendo wii character creation system then.

So much for Aaron greenberg slagging the wii off at every opportunity. Wow nice one. copy an interface system like the ps3 XMB and then add wii like avatars that not only looks very similar, but have a similar avatar creation tool.

'where else but xbox can you visualise your community' (something like that said at E3) .. um where else.. the wii.

Dont get me wrong, i like 360, but im not gonna sit here and squeal like a kid pretending this is an all new idea and put my hands over my eyes and ignore the evidence in front of me.

@NovaBlack: They're not copying the XMB at all. If anything they're copying the WMC interface but then again Microsoft own that. The wii style is quite similar but the market is always copying one another, get over it.

I like the Miis. The idea is nice. They look terrible however, at least you will have some sort of uniqueness with Avatars. Pointless? Yes. Some what cool? Also yes. Just don't expect to me see me buying clothing for MS points.

I'm a graphic designer too, foremost illustrator though, and in my opinion it's all quite tasteless.

@Accordion: How about comparing the two when Live's version is actually in your hands and you get to see how much you hate or love it. Personally the Mii annoy the hell out of me and I don't use them. I always felt that they all look like the same bobbing person.

Miis work because even though the cloths are the same, there is a huge amount of character in the face with the ability to recreate friends and family with comedic accuracy.
Every avatar i have seen looks very similar due to the confined nature of face customization and Ms dependance on clothes for identity.

Perhaps the thought of buying clothes for avatars is easier to stomach than buying eyes and ears.
