Go, Print Off Your New Madden Covers

Sam's Club? You don't need Sam's Club to print your Madden covers off. Or EA, for that matter, because we know you're lazy, and have trouble navigating the homepages of monolithic publishers. So we're giving you the option of getting them right here, with these watermark-free, printable copies of the new Packers-less, Jets-orientated box art. There's one for each version - 360, PS3, PSP and PS2 - and they should be big enough that, when printed, they'll look indistinguishable from the copies of Madden 08, Madden 07 and Madden 06 next to it on the shelf. Oh, except Wii owners, there's no cover for you. Don't take it as a sign EA don't think you care, take it as a sign EA know you don't care.

All I know is when I printed out covers for other games they looked different from the cover already there. More than Likely because I have a crappy printer

@jasu78: Because it seems like a waste of effort to even print it out... and... People who play games care about football??? When did this happen. And it isn't so much that I hate madden... I just hate what it has done to video gaming... I hate the fact that they make games almost entirely for the jocks, and people that have no clue what a good game is.

This will work great up until you start the game up and are reintroduced to the original cover in the form of the unchangeable title screen...
Then again... why does anyone care about the cover anyway? Why not just make Madden 2010 a general template and let people use any picture they want. That way everyone can share in the Madden curse together!

Well, that's one up on the Wal-Mart covers. They don't have the spine, it is just the front, and, at least for the 360 version, they don't completely cover the original cover.

Wii owners, this is just part of that whole EA Sports Family Control thing. They know the members of your family are too daunted by traditional interfaces to operate the printer, so they're letting you replace the original cover with a blank sheet of paper that you can cover with a crayola portrait of Brett Favre and Joe Namath holding hands.

They should've gone ahead and re-designed the cover, leaving the current Packers jersey on sale, but start selling with an updated Jets cover. I guarantee they wouldn't lose sales, and they'd probably benefit from people wanting a "limited" Packers cover, or better yet, one with Favre in Jets, depending on how well he does this season. Print-outs are cheesy as hell.

Madden games are about as good as taking a big shit in a toilet full of acid. as for changable covers i can kind of see the point, i wouldnt want bellend john terry on the front of pes2009 but would i bother changing the cover if he was..?

Honestly, I don't see why you would need an alternate cover, most people, or at least the people I know just stack the games up where the covers aren't even showing... Seems like a waste of ink to me.
Also, I hate Madden Games.

Is the world still like that? Do we still have "Jocks" and "Squares"? I played football, but I also own all three next gen systems. I also frequent Kotaku, a blog dedicated to gamers, on a daily basis. Am I a rarity? I highly doubt it. Madden is one of the best selling games every SINGLE year. What? You think all of those people just bought their systems for that one game and thus, don't know what "a good game is"? God forbid, they play other games while they wait for their yearly releases.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if you're telling me "Girl Gamers" didn't exist...

@NeVeRMoRe666: Also another point, I am not allowed to complain about the sports playing jocks/preps whatever you wish to call them getting games especially catered to their liking, yet when nintendo decides to do that with more casual gamers the gaming community is up in flames with hating it. Look at half of the posts about nintendo's latest lineup.
IT IS PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT A CERTAIN GROUP OF PEOPLE GETTING GAMES MADE JUST FOR THEM!
It is also a sad state of affairs when a game gets sold just for the name attached to it.

Good game = game you enjoy, regardless of genre. That's all that should matter, and the success of another game shouldn't matter to you if you don't like it.

@Gravnar: This will really blow your mind- I'm from IRELAND, yet the NFL is my favourite sport (much better than 'soccer'), I really enjoy playing Madden, and I love video games. Amazing, eh?
With regards to the annual updates, I have a sysytem that means I pay very little (if anything) for them. I buy it at the start of the season, then sell it when hype is highest over here- i.e. when the regular-season game is played in London or when the Superbowl is coming up. That way I pay no more than £5, if that.
Additionally, it's region free on 360 this year, meaning my man in Hong Kong will sell it on eBay for £25 delivered!

And have you ever thought that the insane success of games like Madden and Guitar Hero gives console makers and publishers money to spend on games that you DO enjoy? The strength and success of the video game industry today would not be possible without these titles and the ones before them.

EA seems to also "know" that I'm not interested in the updated rosters in Madden 08 that I was promised I would receive through the 09 season. I'm so glad EA knows us Wii owners so very well.
I downloaded the PS2 cover for use with my copy of Madden 08 Wii. It seems somehow fitting.

@Zepultura: I have no problems with the Audio, but I have had several in-game freezes, where the game continues (can hear sound, controller movements, etc) but the Video freezes on the play calling screen and forces a reboot. :/

I did notice that the PDFs in original size print out on A4 paper (standard Euro size), not in letter. Are these to be printed out on A4 without scaling or in letter, scaled to the paper?

@: It is all a matter of opinion. Everyone loved final fantasy 7, I thought it was mediocre. After that 8 wasn't good, 9 was fantastic. And now we have final fantasy games geared to the punk/emo groups. Then there was the god awful mistake of the FF x-2. Final fantasy has gone down the drain lately. Ever since they went to all the crappy futuristic things. They have almost completely removed the Fantasy from the game, to make it Sci Fi, techno games for punks and emos
Again this is my opinion. Just like my opinion that madden games suck. I am obviously not the only one who thinks this looking through all of these posts a lot of people agree. Or say similar things.
