@ZetaCrossfire: The great thing about the Neverwinter Nights games is that they have enormous lengevity, thanks to the toolsets which allow people to make and publish their own adventures (and indeed add all kinds of assets to the game as well). Oh and the ability to in essence run your own mini-MMO, thats cool too.
I still need to play the Mask of the Betrayer expansion; I hear it's very good indeed.

I'm still waiting for Mysteries of Westgate.
And I sure as hell hope this next proper expansion, comparing to MotB, won't be as nice and pretty as it looks in terms of atmosphere.
They had an excellent mystical feel going with MotB while the OC had more of a WoW-flair. They must not revert back to that. The environments in those shots look very bland and not mystical like some of the amazing stuff in MotB at all. Portals to the netherworld, need I say more? Not sure if it was called the netherworld tho...been a while.

@TMFAN:
You're damn right! What helps lend to it's long life is the community support. There are several high quality single player campaigns put out by the community. On level with professional development quality. They've got rendered introduction movies and credits.

@NES8bt: Looks like it's been changed since my post.
The first "you're" used to be "your," and the last "your" used to be "you."
In any event, looks good now.

@ReadNLearn: The expansion is pretty impressive from a story perspective, but it's a bit too easy imho. $40 together is a good deal though :)

I've been playing through the original campaign over the last couple of weeks. I'm maybe half way through the game and it is getting better and better. I bought the original campaign and the first expansion together for like $40. Awesome value!

Surprisingly enough, Storm of Zehir is at the top of my most anticipated for '08. The NWN games give amazing replay value due to the toolset which allows download-able player modules (new campaigns) and online persistent worlds. Of course... most of the people who haven't played NWN won't understand this.
NWN = Ultimate replay value. Much better in my opinion than the $60 5-hour FPS's people hoard over.

I love the sarcastic "people still play this?" remarks. Just shows that people are quicker to adopt the popular attitude toward a title rather than play it themselves. NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer remains one of the best RPG experiences of this decade. Storm of Zehir has me gibbering in anticipation.

Don't bother finishing #1; they're unrelated. 2, and especially the expansion, are considerably better.

Oooh, this looks amazing. Of course, I still haven't finished NWN1, sooo. Yeah. Plus, I don't know if I should get NWN2 for my Mac or PC version for Boot Camp. So many hard choices.

I really like NWN2's single player campaign but a bug while loading a specific zone prevents me from continuing it. So much for that...
I'm really lookinng forward to Storm of Zehir though.

I still play NWN2. When I get tired of 4th ed. D&D, I play some NWN2. More content is good!

Augh. This game is a stiff, resource-hogging nightmare of a game. And I know what I'm talking about, since I've been playing it religiously since launch.
It feels like it was made by the hobo-version of Bioware.
That being said, it's multiplayer roleplaying servers are a gift from the Gods. You won't find better online DnD anywhere on the planet...
I'll only be looking forward to this for the multiplayer bug-fixes.

NWN2 is a much better RPG than FF12 imo. Why can't Square have better story and characters instead of trying to make up wack combat system that no body gives a damn about?
