Personally I look forward to the game. Funny cameos and Nintendo in-jokes about their own games sounds good to me.
Game play that looks intresting and fun, ace.
A game with a main character that has to be based off 60 and 70's tv heroes in Japan, I like that.
Of course I enjoy those "different" games (Katamari Damacy, Viewtiful Joe, Mr. Mosquito, Elite Beat Agents and it's Japanese brothers, de Blob, Bloom Box, Guitar Hero and it's kin, etc).
Plus rainbows mean nothing to me other then an arc of different colours caused by light reflecting off moisture in the air as different light spectrum.

Reminds me of the fun when Viewtiful Joe was announced, and that game is a huge tribute to Kamen Rider, a Japanese hero.

@Chadders:The whole Yoshi race (Don't forget Boshi, the emo punk verison) lays eggs, but Yoshi (The Yoshi) has always been called a he. Egg laying does not define sex in the Mario universe. For one, Shiggy's only ever laughed when asked how Bowser ended up with seven kids (Koopalings) and one new ones (Boswer Jr.)

This game is a stroke of genius. It seems sort of dark and really satirical of the whole Nintendo styled videogame market. Loading it with innuendo and homoerotica is seriously one of the boldest choices any developer has made recently. And I think it works.

I mean, what other game would allow the decades old confusion of Birdo's sexuality be officially discussed? TOTALLY unexpected game and a truly awesome surprise.
