I don't hate Dragonforce.

I hate people who say they love Dragonforce after only ever playing "Through the fire and flames" on GH3. Or those who love the band so much they will attack anyone who makes a single negative comment. Or those who think it's the pinnacle of rock just because there's a lot of noise in it.

In fact, I pretty much hate people.

@D-Sovereignty: my beef with DF has always been song composition. i feel like they just get hard ons off of solos, without really taking you on a journey, ala Opeth,DT,etc. just for goodness sake i will listen to new material to see if u can make me into a believer.

I was amused by D-Sovereignty's attempt at a preemptive strike, but the new album is pretty awful, it doesn't even measure up to their mediocre previous efforts. I guess I can "suck it," just not as much as the new album sucks it.

Been a huge Dragonforce fan since before they were big. Can't wait to test out Revolution Deathsquad, though I'm sure any other old school Dragonforce fans would agree on the fact that Fury of the Storm would be more fun to play than Operation Ground and Pound.

The amount of hate Dragonforce gets is amazing. You people have some serious damn issues, honestly. They're a fantastic band, and their lyrics are -supposed- to be cheesy as hell.

Plus, anyone that says every song sounds the same hasn't listened to Ultra Beatdown. Truly an epic album from start to finish, and not a single song sounds like any other. They're all unique and excellently crafted, and the whole album has a renewed focus on vocals over just playing as fast as possible.

@Spiderkid: because DF,like DT love to bang out solos. its is evident in both bands. the difference is that one band takes you on a journey, while the other punches you in the face, you pass out..... and then you wake up later at the destination. which is why this pack will be solely for those looking for bragging rights. and then there will be the actual core DF fans that have heard more than TTFAF.

Ultra Beatdown is the worst album title ever... the cover art is pretty bad as well.

While these songs will probably still be fun to play on GH, I think that Dragonforce is severely over rated. There are so many better bands in the same vein as them that are truly worthy of all the attention Dragonforce has been getting.

As a band, I'm not a very big fan. They got talent by all means but their songs just all sound so similar to me. I respect their ability, especially the guitarists, but I just think that they could do more with it.

I had a period I really liked bands like Rhapsody, Symphony X, Sonata Arctica etc... But the last couple of years these bands keep producing the same sound over and over again.
DragonForce is everything I dislike in power-metal distilled in one awfull, live underachieving crapdoodle.
If you want good power metal, check burnt offerings or the dark Saga by Iced earth, you want the gods of metal Exodus and Death Angel will serve you.

Sonata Arctica can, Symphony X can, Rhapsody can't and I'm really sorry but Dragonforce still can't either.
If you want to make metal (any kind) then you have to make sure it sounds better live than on a disk.
My collection of the symphony of the enchanted lands, Symphony X and Blind Guardian albums are still treasured, because they were good, it's just a pity nothing ever evolves. Most of them now produce albums like clockwork, everything ultra-thight following the patterns they know to work. The soul is gone... it's just dried up technicality.

I sometimes wish Guitar Hero and other music games did not exist. It pains me to see bands like Dragonforce as the new face of Metal these days when they're honestly not that amazing. I dislike them completely, but I won't say they aren't good musicians. They just aren't as God-like as the GH crowd seems to believe.

Will be grabbing just to see how insanely hard Operation Ground and Pound will be to play. TtFatF was do-able on Hard, but I never got past the solo on Expert....I'm wondering how far I'll be able to get on the new tracks! Gotta love a good challenge, regardless if you like the music or not.

DragonForce always sounds to me like Queen, Queensryche and Journey smoked meth together and crapped out some 200 bpm Tommy-style rock opera about Tolkien. In music, as in sex, faster does not always equal better. I'll take Arch Enemy over power metal any day of the week.

I hate on Dragonforce because they've turned an entire generation of people into faux-metalheads. It's the same thing that Slipknot and SoaD did years ago. When people are proud of being a metalhead, that's great, but when they say they listen to Dragonforce and not much else then I lose respect for them. Call me an elitist and I'd agree with you. I'm proud of being one.

Come on people, expand your horizons. If you want to be called a metalhead, listen to some fucking metal and not some shred-fest, uninspired bullshit like Dragonforce. If you do want to listen to power metal exclusively, then pick some better bands like Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Rhapsody, etc.

I heard a lot of trash-talk about DragonForce sucking live. But I actually saw them in OKC about a month ago. I was shocked at how awesome it was. I've seen some of the videos of them blowing it live, but the show I saw was nothing like that. I don't know what the hell happened, but they definitely do not suck live any more.

Also, it was one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. The spent most of the show talking shit to each other. And the hair-blowing-wind-machine...awesome! They obviously don't take themselves too seriously. Unfortunately, the haters do for some reason.

If this was Rock Band dlc, I may have had to bite for the challenge alone, although I am still trying to get past a couple songs from last week(goddam impossible Dream Theater solo). After playing Rock Band exclusively for a while, when I go back to GH3 it just doesnt feel right, and sort of inaccurate. Oh well, $6.25 saved!

Once after the release of the third album in the symphony of the enchanted lands epos, and then they were horrible, I could not for the life of me recognize any song they were playing. Later I saw them after their fifth album,
granted it sounded a bit cleaner, but was nowhere near the quality they produce on-disc. The last time they weren't much better than the second. Unless they improved massively in a year and a half period, my guess is they still can't perform their bombast live.
