Hot Shots: Out of Bounds is developed and distributed by Sony. As it is a Sony game, it is much easier to get them to put in a Kratos cameo.

Putting Kratos in Soul Calibur IV makes the most sense, but who knows what would have been required to get Namco to not only make a PS3 exclusive character, but to make it Kratos himself.

I'm kinda worried that this isn't exactly the best place for him to make a cameo. A golf game? I mean.. seriously? I could see SCIV, and the LBP thing isn't bad, cause its totaly a costume thing.

But this.. its like they tried to render Kratos with current-gen tech, and failed. It just doesn't look right. And.. again.. IT'S GOLF! lol. Too much of anything isn't good. and we are bordering on too much kratos. It's looking a lot like Sony trying to milk it. which is bad, cause Kratos is actually a really cool character.

@Ad-hominem: He may not be the Sony mascot yet, but it seems as if he is heading that direction. His presence might not have been a big deal, but seriously, a golf game? They aren't using his character because of the paralleling similarities between hotshots and God of War, they are using him because of stature and fan favorite his character has become. While Kratos might still be clean and true to his form for the most part, don't be surprised when you start to see him in a growing number of products completely unrelated to the God of War universe. Mascots get whored around for publicity purposes; Sonic, Mario, and Master Chief are all prime examples. That official Kratos flavored Mountain Dew is just a prediction.

Well the fact he has released a game, preview for another game, costume is in LBP and pops in for Golf is 4 things in less then 6 months. I like cameos more when they are spread out a bit. LBP costume is a thumbs up. Golf? not so much. Soul Caliber? I'd be ok with.

This is what Sony needs. More charm. It's the first thing I've seen that doesn't make me think of the PS3 as this cold, stone monolith.

I never played Jak, so that wouldn't resonate w/ me. Having played the first few levels of GoW (just finished w/ da laydeez) I find this endearing. That's precisely the intended effect.

Whenever I do get a PS3, I'll be picking up God of Golf. :p
