I suppose this is a must buy game for me as my 3 year old daughter would enjoy it. She's even have fun with Rub a Dub PSN title using DS3 Sixaxis controller, I can't imagine what joy she would have playing this. Buy!! but I suck in making level, hopefully it comes with a lot of pre configured levels.

Anyway, this is pushing me even more to fork over the cash for a PS3... Every time I hear anything about LBP I feel dirty inside for paying $250 for the Wii that I never play and not using that towards that shiny blackness and Spiderman movie font that I now want.

Cute site. Doesn't look like there's any content on it so far. The black sackboy is kind of creeping me out when his tongue isn't sticking out, like a forced smile or something.

@Morpork: I don't know how they choose which stories to cover or maybe there are so many tips they don't get around to reading most of them or it takes them days. Either way, I'm guessing it'd help to summarize it all into the subject (or make it super misleading so they click on it!)

The website is nice and all but, i really hope MM try to give us back the direct picture uploading like they promised inthe 2007, the PSEYE could be a cool tool (even if they firstly said any camera was fine) and stuff but I really was hoping we could upload our .png with transparencies to mess up the stage, I seriously was planning an underwater one.

I hope I'm wrong about having a nagging feeling this game is going to tank. I want to see this game succeed because I think its success would gave a wake up call to the industry about user generated content. I like what MS is doing but they're to reluctant. If they got more pressure from developers then they will open up more and I honestly believe if LBP is a success then developers will want to follow this like a gimmick and THAT will get the ball rolling :)

@enewtabie: I dunno... It seems like the game is already a critical success and it hasn't even come out yet but when I think about what it's asking of the average gamer, it feels too niche. It's kind of like the same problem with games that ask the player to make their own fun. It's a hard idea to sell the mass market. Being a sandbox whore myself, I love games that let you go wild with your creativity but most of those games have loose objectives to tie things together. I don't know if LBP has a campaign mode or not but without something in there to tell the mass market "this is what you do" and "this is how you will like it", I wonder if it can really grab peoples attention or hold peoples attention long enough to think "Well that's something even I can do". Believe you me, I don't known a PS3 but I think a lot about this stuff and I probably thought myself into a corner somewhat. It may be the fact that I have little frame of reference to compare the the potential performance of this game too or it could be just that I'm a bit cynical about press-driven hype versus fan-driven hype but there's still many unanswered questions out there for me personally. We'll just have to wait and see.

You know, I kinda miss the big hype machine that was the Smash Bros. Dojo. Seriously, those were some good times. (By the way I'm over 100 hours into Brawl now and still going strong.) I say bring it on, LBP. But hear this! You'd better bring the hype and bring it good.

I know that you can create your own levels and vehicles but I am wondering if it is possible for you to create your own bosses in complexity to the ones that come from premade levels?

This game is so horribly over hyped. I can't imagine enjoying this for more than a weekend. It's a little kids game at best, and it might not even be good at that, we'll see.

@DigitalVirus: It's hyped because it is an amazing looking game with massive potential. It also has a 60 level single player mode in addition to the social element. I don't know why you would rag on this any more than most other platformers.

Are kids going to love it? Yes but that doesn't mean adults won't either, especially when there are going to be some fiendish user created levels appear for it in the course of time.

seriously, LBP could be game of the year. seriously. i was sorta hyped when i saw the first vid, but now, not only will i be getting special editionof this game.... i will (gasp!) buy the strategy guide.... if it will aid the level building process. for level conquering i will trust my good ol gaming instincts.
