It'd be a bad move to release it on the 360 in Asian countries. The 360 just doesn't have the install base. Of course, no 360 version means that they would lose the sales to the folks that only have the 360 in the area. Depends on if they think that the sales they get on 360 in Asia are worth the port costs. I can see both sides of the fence.

I guess it's because I'm only concerned with release dates that will actually benefit me that I find this whole thing rather absurd.
Too many people at Square and Microsoft are talking to the press and none of them have any idea what is going on.

Hell, last week everyone was all about the possible PC release of XIII and now that seems to be debunked as well.

That makes it sound like all MS versions of FF13 are still in the planning stage. Couple that with the creator saying that PS3 is the main priority makes it sound like if they are wanting to release all at once we maybe a ways off. Heres hoping they don't go the route of waiting because it isn't fair to the gamers who own PS3 to wait. Because it wouldn't have been fair to 360 owners to wait for Bioshock or the like (GTA doesn't count since R* said both versions were giving them fits).

Me personally I would have preferred a straight up PS3 launch and a port a 6 months to a year latter. Announced after launch. But that isn't how the cards fell. I some how doubt it'll be a simultanious 360/PS3 launch. But only money ans time can tell.

They better release it becuase knowing SQEX, they'll region-lock it and for an American in JPN with a JPN console, Asian Versions are the only way to get English games that are region-locked.

I'm pretty sure that Japan is getting FFXIII on the PS3, and that while the game is getting localized for the US and EU, they'll be working on the port for the 360 version.

Which just goes to show that SE really is about the money, because they are a business. (And may I say that I'm glad everyone has finally dropped the "traitor" talk?)

BTW, Infinite Undiscovery is getting released next month (as is DQIV for the DS), so it's not like there isn't anything on the way, making the wait unbearable.

What's the point? First off, they'll probably have to wait 6 months for the 360 version, and it's likely practically every single Japanese family will own a PS3 by that time.

For portables yes, but less so nowadays for the consoles. Online multiplayer really helps to lessen the piracy impact nowadays.

Unless of course you rig it to access the private regional networks, but they're unreliable and a pain.
