I will probably download, now i have swapped the HDD for a 320gb i really appreciate having high quality games ready to play at any moment.

Having a selection of small PSN only games such as SSHD, Everyday Shooter and PJ: Eden, PSone titles as well as Warhawk, GT5:P, Tekken DR, possibly SIREN, Ratchet, and SOCOM. While also having a disc in the system is quite an amazing level of immediate entertainment.

[I wonder if anyone has attempted modding a PS3 with a hundred disc carousel …?]

Never played SOCOM before but I love online shooters and I want a headset and like the others, I've heard this one is supposed to be really good. But I do love the idea of downloading games, I would just download if I didn't want the headset.

Up till this point all I've ever owned was a XBOX. But my girlfriend just bought me the Limited Edition Gun Metal PS3.

What else can I not live without for the PS3?

@RYAMATSU: Yes, if you have to pick up a PS3 anyway, and want this game, the headset bundle is most recommendable. Trust me, I have the (European) Warhawk headset from Jabra, and um...it's not that great. The quality is fine but it feels like shit on my ear.

Download version here. The headset that came with Warhawk works decently enough, and I don't care about behind the scenes videos. Besides, I find the idea of downloading games to be the hip thing that all the future kids are doing...in the future.

I think I'll nab the bundle. I've yet to use a headset and I could use one for my PS3 and (if compatible...) for my new iPhone I've got on the way. SOCOM isn't exactly my fave for a shooter...but it has NEVER disappointed either. It'll be a good addition to my meager PS3 library.

I will never pay the same price for a downloadable game that I do for a packaged one. Does the packaging not cost anything to make? Sure it does. Subtract whatever it cost you to make that case and manual from the downloadable price and I'll consider.

But it is convenient just downloading the game without having to drive and pick it up from a brick and mortar store, Juthan. You are paying for the convenience. Sure, that is a valid point, but I am weird when it comes to my games. I want that packaging and disc.

I buy download only games when they are just that: download only.

With all that rambling out of the way, I will buy the bundle if the headset is better, or I'll buy the $39.99 SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation (Stand Alone Version).

Disc-only. The ability to re-sell is great as it will compete with BFBC, Warhawk, MGO, COD4. If it doesn't stack up I would like the ability to trade it in and apply towards LBP. If I didn't have a headset I would go with that bundle however as apparently BT headset still command a princely sum at brick and mortar stores sadly. I got my Jabra for $25 online, and it was going for $50 at Office Max as an fyi.

The headset isn't actually SOCOM themed, but it is much nicer than the warhawk one, IMO. It does have a Playstation logo on it.

My bluetooth headset works fine, but I'd really like one that has mute. But I do like the idea of running the game off the hard drive. (Loads up faster and don't have to swap discs or worry bout my kids destroying it)

I learned my mistake on purchasing Warhawk online. Found out that I didn't even like the game that I spent $40 and I can't even return or trade it in!

So if I do bother getting SOCOM, I would definitely buy the retail version. The headset looks really nice, so I will probably await some review on the game and headset to come out first.

Depends on the quality of the headset. I already have a rather poor one that I use mainly for skype. If the headset is good, then the $60 bundle sounds 'aight. If not, then the $40 disk.

Damn Apple for making the earbud the only way to enter music or sound into your head. There is no reason why earbuds have to exist, they are uncomfortable and foolish. I want the sweet NFL headcoach headsets (the ones with the giant ear muffs) delightful.

I'm going to have to think about this some. I have a headset that I already use with my PS3, but I also use it with my cellphone. Having to constantly move it around like that is kind of annoying. If the packaged headset looks good, I might pony up the extra money to have a dedicated PS3 headset. I still think Sony should have packaged one in with the console to start with.
