There is an actual reason for doing that, something about stocks and numbers and sales and calculators, I cant remember why exactly though. But they don't absolutely have to be released on Tuesdays.

I'm going to make the assumption that since I can run the Creature Creator on full settings, I should be able to run Spore itself on at least low settings.

If, according to the mac requirements, it runs on my MacBook as well as I think it will, train trips are going to be much less boring from now on!

Whats odd is that the 7th is a Sunday, and I didn't think games shipped on Sundays. But yay, I'm glad its gone gold, just wish a certain other game was going gold as well, but sadly, that ain't happening.

My PC has barely squeaks by with my 128 video ram card. But I don't find sitting at my computer desk playing games all the comforatble. My laptop would preferable but I'm not sure I have that intel chipset. Better go check. Maybe instead of movies and TV, Spore's developers could maybe consider a 360/PS3 version. Just a thought.

Plus: Mac release, with the popularity of Powerbooks these days, could become an actual market here. I'd love to see a Mac gaming scene that can compete with MS on some level.

What's the big thing about Spore? No one I've talked to seems to know what's so great about it! They always say, "Oh, you create a creature, it evolves, then it flies to space!" I feel like there's some important part that everyone's missing about the game.

I can't wait to enslave your creatures.

The system requirements say that my macbook is powerful enough using the xp boot but not powerful enough with mac os leopard, which i havent even upgraded to! apparantly my integrated intel GMA 950 is cool for windows but not for mac! any idea why this is? i thought leopard was considerably more optimised.

i only bought my macbook a year ago! i should have gone with a pro now, but at the time, the standard highest spec macbook was a fast(ish) computer. If only id known aout the integrated chipset before id bought it.

This is going to be the first PC game I have bought since Starcraft.

I was at the Spore talk at SIGGRAPH. Keep in mind that this is a scientific conference where people with PhD's talk about quaternions and shit like that. The guy spent the entire time playing with user-generated models in the Spore engine. And it was so awesome that NO ONE MINDED.

is it finally time? is it finally TIME!!??

Ever since he showed it off at GDC for the first time, I have been waiting to see this hit the shelves. The creature editor is fun to play around with, but what i really want is the galaxy phase where I can do experiments with the game system.

It'll also be curious to find out how exactly this balanced simulated environment functions. I mean I know Will is quite sure they will be able to put other players content to create a balanced world for you, but I wonder if there will be odd things happening now and then due to the nature of this balancing. I also hope the weed out most of the penis monsters from this balancing.
