@develin: It will take you more than 2 rounds to get all the trophies, because you need to beat it on each difficulty (4 of them) and I don't think (could be wrong) you can't get one if you started on another and swtiched at the end..

Not sure for which platform I'll get BC - as it won't be released in Europe on PSN but I don't want the Japanese version (only two PSN I have a credit card for) because the story will be hilarious, I guess I might get it for PC ....

@Amazon_Chris: When certain random users downloaded and installed one of the recent trackpacks it would stop their game from being able to save any data. You could load the game but not record new scores etc. It didn't affect everyone, but it did affect me, I've been waiting desperately for about 3 weeks for this fix

Back before Madden was the only NFL game there was tons of hype surrounding both the Madden and NFL2kX releases.

You should do what I do and show only a passing interest in American Football, i.e. only enough to buy one game every 3 years. That way change is more noticable and you don't feel ripped off paying $xx for a roster update. I may just pick Madden up this year.. or should I wait for Blitz?

After playing the demo extensively I am starting to think '09 is finally the next-gen Madden I have been waiting for. Fumbles, picks, and kicking distance have all been toned down, graphics upgrade, animations upgrade, add that in will all the small new features they put in this year and you have one of the best Maddens to date, on paper that is.

The only thing that worries me is the amount of dropped passes in the demo. That is not a deal breaker, but hopefully it is not as prominent in the final product. I will be renting the game just in case, I do not want to get burned again but I think this could be the first great Madden since 2004.

@NeVeRMoRe666: Head Coach is a decent game if you're more into the whole offseason updates, minicamp, trades, being a GM section of Madden. I consider it the "simulation" to Madden's games, which are "arcade."

My NFL holdout will continue. No Madden three years running and still going strong! I don't plan on buying it unless I see a significant update or someone else get a liscense. Until then, my own personal (useless? lol) boycott will continue.

Pretty sure I'll be getting that Bonebreaker game though, or whatever it was called...the one with the varied tackles and such.

I'll be getting Madden '09. I can't decide on the regular edition or the collectors though. I normally just stick with the normal one but this year, the CE comes with NFL Head Coach which is a series I haven't tried at all. However, the CE is $30 bucks more than the regular one. Advice?

I played the Madden 09 demo on the PS3, and I was really pleasantly surprised how much they have strived to improve the game. You do need a fairly decent HDTV, however, because some of the icons can be pretty small. The game should be very competitive, since it adopts (in theory) to your skill level.

I still want a defensive POV in future Maddens though. The offensive side of the ball has been relatively good for a couple of years, but it really sucks when playing defense from your opponent's offensive backfield (Baseball games, basketball, hockey, soccer, etc. all give you to POV's depending on whether or not you have the ball. Why not Madden!!!)

If my copy of Madden bugs out halfway through franchise mode (like last year), atleast I can still get my NFL fix with Head Coach. Sigh...I wish they could combine the two and make Madden's franchise mode more like Head Coach (or atleast have it back to last gen's "Owner Mode"). Then the game would feel more complete. But then again, EA would never want to stop nickel and diming us now would they?
