@Fert: If that's the only reason then I think there's about 50,000 people who are pissed at you right now. Blizzcon is sort of a celebration for dedicated fans. Diablo 3, if it is playable, is a bonus, not the sole reason for attending.

I'm not one of those 50,000, but I'm sure Fahey (he was the one who got screwed for tickets, right?) would find that irritating at the very least.

Considering the last post about the Necromancer not being in D3 caused a bit of ruckus with the people who didn't understand that yes the Witch Doctor is like the Necromancer.

I really hope we get some new info concerning this. Not too concerned about the hands-on though. I mean what are they going to report?

"You click left mouse to go here and press 1 to activate 1st skill but you can do it while holding shift for added damage"...or something to that effect. I'm pretty sure everyone knows how Diablo plays. Though new character classes and a concrete release date would certainly be nice. =D

Man, I would hate to be a Blizzard PR rep right now. First, because hundreds of games these days have a bland brown color scheme and when your company wisely decides that's a boring choice, your fans get angry because your game is the one that's *supposed* to be gritty. Then, just a couple of months after you announce that you're developing this long-awaited sequel that people are already boycotting due to the fact it's colorful... people expect it to be playable at your convention?

Seriously? I would be strangling someone right now if I were in their position. At the very least, I'd tell everyone, "you know what? NO. It's not playable. We've been busting our asses on StarCraft II, and this thing isn't even close to ready yet. Ask me again and we'll fucking cancel it yet on you."

This is probably why I don't work in customer service.

I would love to be a fly on the wall for that one. Actually, no, I'd rather be a gamer with my ass in a seat playing the game. I've all but given up on PC gaming these days, but Diablo 3 is going to drag me willingly and happily back to the platform.

I don't care that the art direction is different...I'm more concerned with the fundamental gameplay choices they are making with D3...death involving a time penalty, health orbs and no potions, ability to respec(which to me suggests that it will require a greater time commitment to create a new character), I just fear that they are going to get rid of the features that make D2 fun for me. I like being able to make new characters, have them rushed, and end up with a mid-high level character quickly so i can play around with multiple new builds and characters at the same time. Its fun to have one sorc that just focuses on having lightning maxed out, but to also have a more balanced meterob sorc at the same time. I don't want hours and hours of gameplay because honestly, clicking stuff isn't all that fun...the fun is all about getting better loot so you can feel like a godlike demon-slayer. Ease of play along with the SMALL time commitment required for great gains, variety of character builds, and the perfectly implemented carrot-on-a-stick loot system is what makes D2 so addictive, not the level design and quests or the action of clicking a billion times. Given blizzards attempts to nerf rushing in D2, it is only logical to assume that they are going to make it basically impossible in D3. What I don't want is a big long quest filled game that requires a lot of time to get through from start to finish, but it seems like that is what Blizzard is going to deliver.

for anyone who played hellgate (RIP), I think they need to get class that's very in tune with the demonic forces of hell. There'll be a new class showing for sure, hopefully they do a little fan service and add throw some dirt on those mspaint textures, and show a class that's NOT in any way inspired by the WoW universe.

If they add gnomes or dwarves, I'll fucking die.
If they add elves/drows or anything non-human and isn't an angel or demon as a class I'll die twice.

Now's there chance to get them 80k people back on their side.
