Wonder Woman, Raiden Two Of Four New Kombatants

Midway announced, in a roundabout way, four more additions to the cast of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe at the Leipzig Games Convention today. After Ed Boon left the stage, having been properly grilled by German personality Oliver Pocher, four images flashed on screen, quickly confirming more of the MK vs. DC line up. On the DC side, Wonder Woman will clash with Deathstroke (aka Deathstroke the Terminator), who joins the short list of known DC Universe bad guys.
On the Mortal Kombat side, two from the original cast return as Raiden and Kano — both of whom bear a striking resemblance to their Mortal Kombat III versions — round out the "greatest hits" cast.

I'd like to see the Preacher cast make an appearance. At the end of the game, Jesse could just tell you to go to hell and then of course, you'd be in the hell level. You would then fight Satan until he was about dead and then it would start snowing and the Saint of Killers would shoot his face off and then he would be your final boss. Nevermind, I think they should just make an action/adventure Preacher game.

"The console ports released up until then, along with both movies and the comic book series, changed the name to "Rayden." This was allegedly because of copyright issues regarding the Raiden series of arcade games, or possibly to prevent confusion with a playable character named Raiden from the Fatal Fury series."
I think I'm happy to take Wikipedia's word for it on this one.

@chalmo: I just went to Wikipedia to check the proper spelling of Raiden and while I was there I noticed this:

Raiden and Kano were the two fighters featured in the first game's arcade flyer and they both were just announced for the first game. Spooky!
Now for the comment I was going to leave:
Raiden is a pimp. I love his torpedo and lightning moves.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy. MK2 Raiden and MK1 Raiden were both in that (MK1 Raiden by holding down start while selecting him, if I remember correctly).
Chalmo - they changed it on the consoles. I think "Raiden" was taken as far as copyrighted name on consoles (not sure what game, maybe something to do with the SHMUP) so they had to modify the spelling.

Although I guess this means he is not the I-despise-everyone "Neutral" Raiden from the most recent MK games, which sucks. Vengeful Raiden > Regular Raiden.

Do you mean RaYden? I was just playing the original yesterday on SNES and noticed that it is spelt with a 'y' and not an 'i', perhaps it was changed later in the series though. Don't crucify me if I'm wrong.

My left-field bet would be Dr. Fate given the whole magic angle they're going in this, but I'll stick with my gut feelings of Black Canary (gotta have the women) and J'onn J'onnz. If only to see him freak out like a baby at every fireball.

Nice. I'm actually looking forward to this game.
From the MK side, I'd still like to see Johnny Cage.
From the DC side - I'd like the four human Green Lanterns as alternate costumes for that character (Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, John Stewart, and Guy Gardener). I'd also like to see Sinestro, Darkseid, Bizarro, and/or maybe Lobo.
Doomsday is a weak character, but would be fun to play in a brawler.

It's looking like a good line-up so far:
Jax, Kano, Kitana, Liu Kang, Rai(y)den, Sonya, Shang Tsung, Scoprion, and Sub-Zero, vs. Batman, Catwoman, Deathstroke, The Flash, Green Lantern, The Joker, Shazam/Captain Marvel, Superman and Wonder Woman.
Missing Johnny Cage from the original MK cast (I guess Goro and Reptile too, if you want to get technical). Lex Luthor could have a place on the list - he's popular enough, and has a little more in his arsenal than, say, Kano or Sonya. The entire game is missing some 'heavy' characters though. Lobo and Bane could fill those spots, as well as some four-armed guys from MK.
Should be a deep roster though. 18 names dropped so far, and the game has a lot more to show us.

Wow I was not expecting Deathstroke. I am glad he is in there though. I was thinking more of Darkseid, Brainiac. Lobo, even Amazo, or Solomon Grundy.
I'm glad to see Raiden and Kano included. I have stayed optimistic on this game ever since I first heard about it being made and each time I saw news of it I have become more and more impressed with it.
