More Guitar Hero Toys Coming From McFarlane
Posted by Luke Plunkett at 7:00 PM on September 11, 2008
Those figures of your "favourite" Guitar Hero "characters"? They're just the start of Activision and McFarlane's push to sell you more mostly-immobile hunks of Guitar Hero-related plastic. Due for release in January 2009 will be a line of customisable guitars that let you swap out the heads, necks and bodies (no word on size or price), while later in the year, there'll be more versions of the guitars, as well as 10" versions of the already-seen characters, eight more of the 6" characters (including Clive Winston and Eddie Knox) and a few lines of 2" character figures. If you're torn between just which Johnny Napalm 10" figure you'll want - the "British Flag" variant or the "Skeleton" variant - the full release (sadly, lacking any pictures) follows.

Who's the last? Is it a secret? Or just a fuck-up?

It could be either. I'd think about picking up Casey Lynch.

I'll be interested when someone picks up the idea of TF2 figures.

I agree. Only if it GH1 Pandora though. Actually....I wouldn't mind a figure of anyone from GH1. Xavier Stone from GH1 is still my favorite character in the whole series.

@Crippl3: There were a few new characters introduced in On Tour, and there's been videos of a few more new ones in World Tour.
@EvilSuperSean: Same here, if it's her alt-outfit. And I wouldn't mind seeing a Pandora fig.

There's stuff happening behind the fretboard?
All that other stuff going on might as well not be there. Cool lightshow, but really, I'm concentrating on what buttons to press, not the characters I'm supposedly playing as.

Are the customizable guitars for the figures or for the actual game?

Give me Midori and we will talk McFarlane...
Personally I don't like the new figures with their articulation and all I liked the statues of old... though it works for the Halo line I would have preferred a more detailed (and larger) statue.

Ugghh, they´re ugly...Does anybody can explain me why the Mcfarlane toys have become so poor in overall terms? I remember they used to be one of the best toy manufacturers, now it looks like they only get the franchises because of the brand, not quality...

How much?
I mean, how will they compare to the custom RB 6" statues? I'd rather have a custom statue of MY character than an action figure of one designed by Activision if the price is the same.

What the fuck is up with Todd McFarlane and all these goddamn toys he keeps flooding the market with? Does he even write or draw comics anymore?
It seems that what Todd McFarlane really wanted to be when he grew up was Mr. Fisher-Price and not Jack Kirby as it seemed at first.

@ Crippl3
MetalHead was a character in Guitar hero 3 on Wii and PS2.
PS3 360 and PC got God of Rock and Grim Reaper.
While Wii and PS2 got Elroy Budvis(Elvis like dude) and Metalhead
