What's up with all this PAIN stuff they tend to vomit up on a regular basis? I have the basic "free" game plus one free bit of content for it, but I rarely play it and can't see how it's good for much else than wasting time (not to mention I have better casual games for that sorta thing waiting in the wings).

I just don't see how the core gameplay can support the ballsy micro-transaction marathon they've been running for the title. I'm going to assume it's all one big experiment to test the waters.

Also, how about that " - for Qore subscribers" suffix? Are these gonna be timed exclusives for subscribers, or "alwayz and 4 evar" exclusives? They need to make Qore worth it on its own, not twist the non-subscribers arm to artificially "up the value". /beef

On the whole though, I'm pretty happy with the store updates, and it can only be a good thing that I'm always wanting more. Demos are win. Trailers are nice too.

I don't buy many episodes of qore(just the first one for the SOCOM beta that I didn't need as I got access from the preorder) but I don't see qore as that bad of a deal. Many of you will remember those Jam Pack demos Sony used to hock for $4.99 before they had a viable online service. I look at qore as a replacement to those since they both share the same characteristics:

Videos of interviews/ inside look at gaming development.

Exclusive demos(albeit mostly time exclusive).

Both run on the system as a game(qore installs like a game and JamPack was on a disc and ran like a game).

A waste of my time and money.

But with all of these things considered it is nice to see Sony pass the savings of not pressing physical discs on to us the consumer. JamPack discs used to sell for $4.99 and Qore is only $2.99 or cheaper if you subscribe. I personally can wait a month longer to play the new MS since I'll be busy playing the SOCOM beta anyway. Either way I think allot of people are being too hard on Sony over this whole Qore thing. Either buy them or don't, it's up to you...

Know what i hate about Qore? Whenever you download something from within it, they seem to go at ultra slow speeds. i've had the pacific rift demo downloading for about an hour now. yet the fifa 09 demo finished in like 15 minutes. (and it's a bigger demo)

I don't get all the Qore hate. It is NOT making the PSN a tiered system.

First of all, Qore has no exclusive content. Timed exclusive, maybe, but not permanent exclusive. The betas that Qore has access to? Qore users can't get the SOCOM beta until Monday, while others have been playing it for the past week. And the betas aren't exclusive to Qore, as Qore is hardly the only way to get in.

As for the demos, I don't know about the Naruto demo (but who really cares about that?), but the MotorStorm: Pacific Rift will be on the PlayStation store in two or three weeks. Yes, Qore users get it early, but it's hardly exclusive.

Beyond the magazine style content, which I think is worth subscribing for (but others may not), Qore has no real exclusives. The fear of Sony using it to tier the PSN is absurd and unfounded.

@Đipic: Yep they got patched in today alond with the pain labs feature. patch is about 350MB and contains all the assets for the maps and characters. You'll be at some of them for a while though (100,000,000 point total on downtown anyone?).

I didn't know the Amusement Park expansion for Pain was out today! As for the extra characters, I think they're a waste of money. I don't know why you can't just unlock them as you play through the game. Speaking of Pain, I'm horrible at doing what is needed to unlock stuff. Tons of great themes on there! A TON of Pain themes/wallpapers, as well as themes for Mirror's Edge & NFS: Undercover! I wonder if Motorstorm 2 will be any better than the first one. I'm sure they'll release the demo without Qore sometime, probably after the game is released.

Regarding Trophies: YES to everyone who wants to know. They have been added to PAIN. Just lauch the game from the XMB while signed into your account. All the new downloadable content appears to be in the free update. However, you must purchase/download the "keys" to unlock it. Business as usual. This makes 5 games now I beleive. Uncharted, Warhawk, Super Stardust, PAIN, and Novastrike currently have trophies to earn. Hoping for Resistance 1 to get an update just before R2 launches. It would be a perfect reason to complete it again and take a break from COD4 online in preparation of course. Since I have been snubbed on the private beta(stomping right now).

The motorstorm 2 demo will probably dissapoint anyone who bought Qore to get it...the controls are HORRID and your vehicles drives like its sliding on ice. Big, wide turn? doesn't matter, when you push the sick to turn as far as it will go your vehicle keeps barreling in the direction you entered the turn with for a good 100 feet.

I don't know what went wrong--I loved the first motorstorm and its one of my fav PS3 games. But the tight controls and the weight of the vehicles in the original are absent in this sequel...what happened?
